This is the request of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at a meeting with the Ministry of Health , a number of ministries, branches and localities on the roadmap for implementing medical examination and treatment service prices, on the afternoon of July 11, at the Government headquarters.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the roadmap for implementing medical examination and treatment service prices is a major issue to implement consistent policies and at the same time achieve the Party and State's consistent goals in improving the quality of care and protecting people's health.

This is also an inevitable trend to create transparency and fairness in the operation of the health sector according to the market mechanism; at the same time, it is necessary to ensure the rights of patients who are policy subjects and people in difficult circumstances. The roadmap for implementing prices for medical examination and treatment services needs to be placed in a close relationship with social security policies, health finance mechanisms, health socialization, hospital autonomy, health insurance and have a clear and complete impact assessment. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, calculating correctly and fully along with the roadmap for implementing prices for medical examination and treatment services contributes to encouraging and creating conditions for autonomous public health facilities to improve professional quality, ensuring regimes and policies to "retain" highly qualified medical staff; having more resources to focus on investing in health facilities in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas.Meeting scene on the afternoon of July 11.
In the immediate future, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Health to urgently coordinate with the Ministry of Justice to have appropriate legal documents to adjust the price of medical examination and treatment services corresponding to the increase in basic salary. Reporting at the meeting, the Ministry of Health proposed that from July 1, 2023, the adjustment of medical examination and treatment service prices will be implemented according to the change in the basic salary from VND 1.49 million/month to VND 1.8 million/month. Those who are covered by health insurance for 100% of medical examination and treatment costs will not be affected. Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Van Luan also proposed a specific plan for the roadmap for calculating management costs, depreciation on medical examination and treatment service prices, as well as assessing the impact of increasing medical examination and treatment service prices on different groups in society. At the meeting, representatives of Vietnam Social Security, Dong Nai province, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Bach Mai Hospital... gave their opinions on the basis and grounds for correctly and fully calculating cost factors into medical examination and treatment prices, the roadmap for implementing price adjustments, and plans to support medical examination and treatment costs for disadvantaged people and those in difficult circumstances...
