On the morning of March 27, 2024, at the Conference Hall of the Cultural and Conference Center of Soc Trang province ( Soc Trang province), a conference was held to summarize the implementation of the emulation covenant in 2023 and deploy the directions and tasks for 2024 of the Emulation Cluster of the Southwestern provinces (called the Emulation Cluster). Attending the conference were Mr. Phan Van Hung, Deputy Head of the Central Emulation and Reward Committee, and leaders of the People's Committees of the Southwestern provinces.

Regarding the delegation of Tien Giang province, attending the conference was Mr. Tran Van Dung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The conference summarized the emulation movement, evaluated the emulation work of the Emulation Cluster in 2023 and set out the directions and tasks of the Emulation Cluster in 2024. In 2023, the Emulation Cluster achieved outstanding results in a number of indicators, such as: average economic growth rate (GDP) reached 6.7%; budget revenue was 98,672.78 billion VND, reaching 107.72% of the plan; export turnover was 23,255 million USD, reaching 104.21% of the plan; average income per capita was 71.26 million VND/person/year, reaching 101.29% of the plan; emulation movement to build schools meeting national standards, high school graduation rate reached the set plan;... National defense and security work was ensured, people's lives were increasingly improved.

In the Emulation Cluster, the emulation achievements of Tien Giang province in 2023, some economic and social emulation indicators ranked high in the rankings such as: total export turnover reached 138.64% of the plan, ranked 1st/12 provinces; budget revenue reached 102.79% of the plan, ranked 10th/12 provinces; restructuring of Region III reached 101.87% of the plan, ranked 6th/12 provinces; total social investment capital reached 100.46% of the plan, ranked 4th/12 provinces; disbursement rate of public investment capital reached 123.8% of the plan, ranked 5th/12 provinces. In the social field, the rate of students passing the High School Graduation Exam and the rate of communes meeting national standards on health always met the set plan; The rate of population participating in health insurance reached 102.32% of the plan, ranking 1st out of 12 provinces. At the same time, Tien Giang province, Bac Lieu province, and Tra Vinh province have 100% of communes recognized as meeting new rural standards;...
The Conference also approved 02 reports on advanced examples of good practices, new models, and effective emulation movements of the provinces for the Conference to refer to in implementing the movement in localities in 2023; in which, Tien Giang province was selected to present a report at the Conference on "Solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of export activities in Tien Giang province". At the Conference, Tien Giang province was assessed by the Ministry and central branches to have achieved well the emulation targets in 2023, the emulation and reward work was highly appreciated in the good implementation of propaganda work, many forms of commendation and honoring advanced examples... have contributed to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
In 2023, Tien Giang province was ranked 3rd out of 12 provinces that the Emulation Cluster unanimously proposed to the Prime Minister to award a Certificate of Merit for achievements in the Emulation Cluster.

On this occasion, the Conference also nominated the Standing Committee of the Emulation Cluster in 2024, accordingly the Cluster Head is Long An province, Deputy Cluster 1 is Ben Tre province, Deputy Cluster 2 is Tra Vinh province. The Conference organized the signing of the emulation covenant in 2024 between 12 provinces in the Southwest.
