According to the Pham family genealogy of Dong Tram village, Pham Nhu Duc was the fifth son of the famous general Pham Ngu Lao, originally from Thua Tuyen Hai Duong , now Hung Yen province. Pham Nhu Duc had great contributions in assisting the Ho Dynasty in expanding the territory to the south and was appointed as the Chief of the Military Region of Thang Hoa.
The name of Pham Nhu Duc is associated with the formation and development of Dong Tram village in particular and the whole southern region of Quang Nam . He is considered the ancestor of the Pham family in Quang Nam. In 1409, he died and was buried in Dong Tram village (now in Huong An town).
Later, when Lord Nguyen Phuc Tan came to guard the land of Quang Nam, he remembered his merits by establishing a temple, building a tomb and posthumously awarded him the title of Phu Quoc Cong.
On November 21, 2018, Pham Nhu Duc's tomb was recognized as a provincial historical relic by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province. In 2020, the People's Committee of Que Son district invested more than 300 million VND, along with the contribution of the Pham family, to rebuild Pham Nhu Duc's tomb in Nhan hill, Dong Tram residential group.
On this occasion, the Pham Family Council of Vietnam awarded certificates of honor and merit to the Pham Nhu clan of Dong Tram village and two individuals with outstanding achievements in serving the clan.
