Positive change
One of the typical models in the province is the Huong Trang Agricultural Service, Production and Trade Cooperative (Binh Hoa commune) with nearly 200 members and a rice production area of over 500 hectares. This cooperative specializes in providing seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and technical support for production to members; connecting and signing contracts with businesses inside and outside the province. Thanks to the tight production organization, members are assured of production, stable output, better selling prices, and significantly improved lives.
Hydroponic vegetable growing model in greenhouses (Nhat Tao commune) helps reduce the amount of pesticides, ensuring safety for consumers.
In Phuoc Ly commune, the model of linking safe vegetable production according to VietGAP standards is being expanded. Phuoc Hiep Safe Vegetable Cooperative is the leading unit in organizing specialized production areas for clean vegetables, supplying to large kitchens and supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City. Every day, the Cooperative consumes more than 2 tons of vegetables of all kinds.
According to Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuoc Hiep Cooperative Tran Thanh Minh, to maintain its reputation, the Cooperative strictly manages the production process, applies electronic diaries, clearly traces the origin; and organizes periodic field inspections. Thanks to this methodical approach, the Cooperative's products are favored by the market and have a selling price 10-20% higher than the market price.
Not only developing in the field of cultivation, modern production organization in Tay Ninh is also clearly demonstrated in livestock. Currently, in the province, there are many pig and chicken farms in the direction of industrial and biosafety.
Many farms have applied the circular farming model, treating waste with biogas or biological bedding, both saving costs and protecting the environment. Many large enterprises have invested in this field, creating chains linking production - slaughter - processing - consumption.

In the rural economic sector, Tay Ninh is effectively promoting the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program. The program is considered a "lever" to promote more systematic production organization, encouraging economic entities, especially cooperatives and small enterprises, to invest in improving product quality, packaging design, traceability, and expanding consumption markets.
However, besides the positive results, the organization of production and development of rural economy in Tay Ninh still faces many difficulties. First, the fragmented, small-scale and fragmented production is still quite common, especially in remote and border areas.
Many farmers are still not interested in the cooperative model, are not familiar with the methodical way of doing things, and lack confidence in the chain linkage. Meanwhile, the management and financial capacity of many cooperatives is still weak, lacking specialized staff, and having difficulty accessing support policies from the State.
Members of Tan Thanh High-Tech Fruit Cooperative (Moc Hoa commune) process bananas before delivering to customers.
Another problem is that although Tay Ninh's typical agricultural products are abundant, they still lack regional links for raw materials, making it difficult to expand production scale along the chain. OCOP products are mainly handicrafts and are not competitive enough in large markets, especially export markets.
Need to strongly innovate farmers' production thinking
To continue promoting the central role of criterion No. 13, Tay Ninh province determined that there needed to be synchronous and breakthrough solutions. First of all, it is necessary to strongly innovate farmers' production thinking, through propaganda, technical training, and replication of typical models.
At the same time, the province will increase support for the establishment and consolidation of cooperatives, especially those operating effectively, oriented towards production according to value chains, linked to quality standards and stable consumption markets.
The Board of Directors of Huong Trang Agricultural Service, Production and Trade Cooperative (Binh Hoa commune) and members visited the field.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Dinh Thi Phuong Khanh said that organizing production in a modern direction is the foundation for developing sustainable agriculture and building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas.
Tay Ninh is entering a new stage of development, requiring agriculture to not only stop at production but also be linked to the market, technology and added value. Organizing production systematically, with linkage and innovation is the inevitable way to increase people's income, maintain the achievements of the new rural area and build a livable rural area.
It can be said that criterion No. 13 is not only a technical condition in the set of criteria for new rural construction but also a strategic content, contributing to the comprehensive transformation of rural areas in a civilized and modern direction.
When production is organized effectively and the rural economy flourishes, farmers will be the ones who benefit the most - not only having a stable income but also being able to feel secure and confident in being the masters of their own homeland./.
