The whole province planted more than 176 hectares of new forest - Cao Bang Electronic Newspaper

Since the beginning of the year, the Forest Protection Department has coordinated with communes and wards to strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to develop forests. The whole province has planted more than 176.84 hectares of new forests.

The planted forest area in the province is well cared for and developed.

Of which, the Project on Protection and Development of Newly Planted Forests planted 4.3 hectares of production forests; replanted 115.47 hectares of post-exploitation production forests; and planted 24.92 hectares of replacement forests. Forest owners are individuals and households who planted nearly 25 hectares of production forests and over 7 hectares of protective forests.

Forest exploitation is strictly managed. As of September 15, the whole province exploited over 21,300 m³ of wood; of which, the volume of exploitation of natural forest wood due to conversion of forest use to other purposes (construction of roads) was over 341 m³; the volume of wood exploited from planted forests was nearly 20,000 m³; and the exploitation of scattered trees was over 1,000 m³.

The Forest Protection Department is continuing to focus on inspecting and accepting the area of ​​​​replacement forests during the care period; guiding investors to change forest types and forest use purposes according to regulations; reviewing bare land without forests to develop new planting plans; proactively implementing the plan for forest fire prevention and fighting in the dry season of 2025 - 2026 and strengthening the dissemination of forestry laws.
