Confident farmers - Firm association accompanies in building modern agriculture

The 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (14/10/1930 - 14/10/2025) is an opportunity to review the glorious journey, marking the steadfast companionship of the farmers' class with the nation's revolutionary cause. Over the past century, the Vietnam Farmers' Union has affirmed its position as a strong political and social organization, a reliable support for farmers across the country. From the movement "Farmers compete in production and good business" to building new rural areas, protecting the environment and digital transformation in agriculture, wherever there are farmers, there is the mark of the Union, contributing to promoting the increasingly comprehensive and sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas.

High-tech safe vegetable production is being widely replicated by many farmer members in the province.

Farmers are dynamic, confident and reaching further

In Tay Ninh province, the spirit of “farmer ownership” is being strongly promoted. With more than 600,000 hectares of agricultural land and hundreds of thousands of households, farmers are the main force in transforming thinking from traditional agricultural production to green, smart agriculture.

Mr. Tran Van Duc - a farmer in Vinh Chau commune, shared: "In the past, I only knew how to farm according to tradition. Now, with the Farmers' Association training on "1 must, 5 reductions" and guidance on organic farming, I have gradually switched to clean production. Each crop, the profit does not increase much, but it is more stable and sustainable. The important thing is that I understand what I am doing and why I have to do it that way."

Not only changing the mindset, many farmers have become "innovation cores" at the grassroots level. From rice, vegetable, fruit tree production models according to VietGAP standards to raising cows, aquaculture,... all have the accompaniment and guidance of the Association.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa - farmer of Thanh Phuoc commune, said: "The Farmers' Association helped me borrow capital from the Farmers' Support Fund, participate in training on production techniques and connect with businesses that purchase agricultural products. Thanks to that, the cooperative's custard apples have achieved 3-star OCOP products and sold at good prices. We farmers now know how to calculate and build brands for our agricultural products."

According to statistics, in the first 9 months of 2025, the whole province had more than 220,000 households registering for the movement of good production and business, of which tens of thousands of households achieved an income of 300 million VND/year or more. The Association at all levels organized more than 18,000 propaganda and technical training sessions, attracting 480,000 members to attend; coordinated with the Social Policy Bank and the Farmers' Support Fund to disburse more than 60 billion VND to 845 households to borrow capital to expand their economic models.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Khanh Hung Commune, Le Quoc Bon, said: “The new point in the current activities of the Association is the practical companionship. Farmers are guided with techniques, supported with agricultural product output, and access to digital transformation. At the grassroots level, each good production model is a testament to the change in thinking from farming to doing business. That is also a way to promote the role of farmers as the main subject.”

Along with technical support for production, Farmers' Associations at all levels also promote digital transformation in Association activities and agricultural production. Many digital farmer models have been formed, helping members update agricultural product prices, weather, and consumption markets via smartphones. Some branches have also set up Zalo groups and fanpages to exchange experiences and provide guidance on applying QR codes to trace product origins.

At the same time, the movement of farmers participating in collective economic development was deployed deeply and widely, encouraging members to join cooperatives and cooperatives. Through production - consumption linkage, farmers gradually changed their thinking, formed a closed value chain, and gradually affirmed their leading role in modern agriculture.

In addition, the Association at all levels has also done a good job in social security. Since the beginning of 2025, 45 Farmers' Shelters have been built by the Association at all levels for members in difficult circumstances, more than 6,000 gifts have been given on holidays and Tet, and hundreds of rural roads have been built by the Farmers.

In the 95-year tradition, farmers today are more dynamic, more confident and reaching further. They are not only "people who produce rice and potatoes" but also "people who create value for modern, integrated and sustainable Vietnamese agriculture".

Continue to affirm the position of the association in the new period

Farmers boldly change crops, increase the value of agricultural products, meet domestic and foreign market demand

The 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union takes place in the context of preparing to organize the 1st Provincial Farmers' Union Congress, term 2025-2030 - the first congress after the province's merger. This is not only an important political event but also an opportunity for the cadres and members of the Farmers' Union to look back on the past and determine the steps for the future.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Tan Tru Commune, Do Tan Luc, said: "After merging the commune-level administrative units, the Association focused on strengthening the organization, reviewing the branches, professional associations, especially collective economic models. The goal is to unify activities, promote the strengths of the locality, and work towards the aspiration of building a modern and effective agriculture."

According to information from the Provincial Farmers' Association, preparations for the Congress are being carried out urgently and systematically. Key contents include summarizing the movement for the period 2020-2025, evaluating the results of the Association's work, and collecting comments on the draft direction for the new term.

Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Nguyen Thanh Tung emphasized: "The first Congress will be an important milestone, affirming the unity, solidarity and development aspirations of the farmers in the province. The Association has determined that the focus of the 2025-2030 term is to promote the role of farmers in developing green agriculture, applying digital technology, participating in environmental protection and building new-style rural areas."

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, in the coming time, the Provincial Farmers' Association will focus on synchronously implementing key groups of tasks: continuing to consolidate and improve the quality of the Association's organization and activities at the grassroots level; building a team of Association officials with courage, enthusiasm, and responsibility to meet the requirements of the new period. At the same time, the Association focuses on developing members, especially young farmers, start-up farmers, farmers applying digital technology; promoting the transfer of scientific and technical advances, supporting the construction of effective production models, linkage chains and OCOP products. In addition, the Association will strengthen coordination with enterprises and banks to expand capital sources and consumption markets, helping farmers feel secure in investing in production, while promoting the role of social supervision and criticism, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and government, towards the goal of sustainable agricultural and rural development.

Propaganda and ideological orientation work has been promoted through social networks and the Association's website with thousands of news, articles and videos introducing typical farmers and effective models. Thereby, the image of Tay Ninh farmers is increasingly portrayed: bravery, intelligence, solidarity and creativity.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung affirmed: “The 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union is not only an occasion to review traditions but also for each cadre and member of the Farmers’ Union to look back at themselves, affirm their position and responsibility in the new period. We are determined to build a strong and comprehensive Union organization, truly a reliable support for farmers and a core force in sustainable agricultural and rural development.”

From the glorious tradition of 95 years, the Farmers' Association continues to be the bridge connecting the Party's will with the people's heart, arousing the desire for development in each farmer. That is the strength that contributes to bringing Tay Ninh firmly on the journey of building a modern and civilized agriculture./.

Currently, the whole province has 258 OCOP products, of which 51 products have 4 stars and 211 products have 3 stars, most of which are produced and processed by farmer members.

Models: Self-managed rural routes, rural roads participating in environmental protection are maintained, creating a new look for many rural areas.
