On the afternoon of April 21, at the Thua Thien Hue Provincial History Museum, the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Thua Thien Hue province organized the opening ceremony of the Second Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day with the message: "Books: Awareness - Innovation - Creativity" and "Books for me, for you".
Attending the ceremony were: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue Province Le Truong Luu; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong.
Accordingly, implementing the Prime Minister's Decisions, over the past years, the entire political system, ministries, branches, communities, localities, publishers, distribution units, libraries, businesses and individuals have enthusiastically participated in responding to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, helping publishing to develop rapidly, making reading culture make remarkable progress.
The movement of reading and giving books has reached many places across the country, contributing to the implementation of the task that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong clearly stated at the 2021 National Cultural Conference: "We must continue to build, preserve and develop an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, truly a "spiritual foundation"https://dangcongsan.vn/tu-tuong-van-hoa/, "a driving force for development", and "lighting the way for the nation"; promoting the cultural values and strength of the Vietnamese people, arousing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and prosperous country, creating the combined strength of the entire nation".

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the harmonious combination of traditional cultural features with modern elements is a way for us to honor books and affirm the central role of reading culture in cultural life, so that the "flow of reading culture" is always opened and continued.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinate to focus on promoting the development of reading culture, bringing books to the community; ministries, branches and localities actively integrate reading culture into all movements such as: building culture, promoting learning...; continue to create the most favorable environment to encourage everyone to participate in writing and reading books to create good works, enriching the source of books; honor authors, artists, and community role models who have brought books and reading culture to everyone, every home.
On the local side, comrade Nguyen Van Phuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province said that in order to promote and expand the development of reading culture, the province has built, formed and developed the habit, needs and movement of reading books among all classes of people, especially among youth, teenagers, students and students, and focused on people in rural areas, such as organizing Free Book Reading Week, talking about topics: "Books and life", "We and Hue cultural heritage", "My book"...
The models of “Bookcase for you and me”, “Bookcase in class” have mobilized many good and meaningful books from socialized sources and students and teachers to build school libraries. In addition, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province has implemented the Project to establish and develop Hue Bookcase to create a book brand with a strong Hue imprint, contributing to promoting Hue culture through books.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, the Hue Bookshelf has formed 9 publications, with the goal of publishing 50 new publications by 2030 and cooperating with the Hue Bookshelf logo with hundreds of other published books nationwide, which will become a typical cultural product of Hue, introduced to readers, forming a meaningful gift set about the culture of the ancient capital; at the same time, it will become a scientific database for research on Thua Thien Hue in all fields..., serving the cause of building Thua Thien Hue into a cultural and heritage city directly under the Central Government according to Resolution 54-NQ/TW, dated December 10, 2019 of the Politburo./.
