Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev affirmed that Kazakhstan highly values ​​the traditional friendship and good multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, a reliable and important partner of Kazakhstan in Southeast Asia.

The Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan recalled President Ho Chi Minh 's visit to Kazakhstan in 1959 and emphasized that General Secretary To Lam's visit was a continuation of the tradition of good relations between the two countries.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his emotion at the warm, thoughtful and respectful welcome given to the delegation by the leaders and people of Kazakhstan when President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed them at the airport and then had a meeting.

Emphasizing that the visit comes at a historic time when Vietnam celebrates the 50th anniversary of the victory on April 30, 1975 and Kazakhstan celebrates the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, the General Secretary said that without the victory over fascism, there would be no August Revolution and no Vietnam today.

The General Secretary said Vietnam wishes to exchange experiences with Kazakhstan to complement each other for mutual development and that bilateral relations will be a bridge for the two countries to the two continents of Europe and Asia.

Parliamentary cooperation is one of the important pillars to promote bilateral relations. The two leaders were pleased to note that cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies has achieved many positive results with the two sides maintaining high-level contacts and committees, both bilaterally and at multilateral forums.

Economic, trade and investment cooperation has seen positive changes. Cooperation in other fields has also achieved many important results.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that with common aspirations and development goals and vast potential, the relationship between the two countries will certainly continue to develop effectively, substantially and be raised to new heights.

Recalling memories of the heroic country of Vietnam and the hardworking and dynamic Vietnamese people during his visit 10 years ago, Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev congratulated Vietnam on its strong socio-economic development achievements that not many countries in the world can achieve.

He said the new stature of the relationship reflects the strong development and strategic connection between the two countries, which is of great significance at a time when both countries are entering a new stage of development and in the context of many fluctuations in the world situation.

The Senate of Kazakhstan will actively support and promote the implementation of the cooperation directions agreed upon by the leaders of the two sides.

Vietnam and Kazakhstan wish to establish a strategic partnership

On the evening of May 5, General Secretary To Lam and his wife had a friendly meeting with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Kazakhstan and representatives of the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in Kazakhstan.

Some community representatives expressed their honor to meet General Secretary To Lam, expressed their excitement, pride and emotion when witnessing the strong development in all aspects of the country; at the same time, proposed a number of solutions to enhance cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan in science, technology, education and training.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam said that Vietnam and Kazakhstan will discuss and wish to establish relations to a strategic partnership, in line with the interests of the two countries. Economic and trade cooperation is developing positively. The fields of cooperation in tourism, culture, education - training, and people-to-people exchange have also recorded many positive results.

Informing the people about the country's situation, the General Secretary emphasized that after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, Vietnam has achieved important achievements in many fields, from politics, economics, to culture, foreign affairs, national defense and security. The political, economic, cultural, social, scientific - technological, national defense and security potential has been constantly improved. Foreign affairs activities have also achieved many important achievements.

Although the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan is not large, it has deeply integrated into the local society and is growing; the spirit of solidarity and efforts to preserve the national cultural identity of the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan are highly appreciated...
