NDO – During his working trip to Quang Tri , on the afternoon of October 15, General Secretary and President To Lam and the Central delegation offered incense and flowers at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Relic; General Secretary Le Duan’s memorial house; and offered incense and flowers to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the National Martyrs’ Cemetery on Road 9 and the Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery.

The delegation included Politburo members: General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Comrade Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Party Central Committee members who are leaders of central departments, ministries, and branches, and Quang Tri province.

The special national relic of Quang Tri Citadel, during the resistance war against the US to save the country, recorded in the history of the nation a golden milestone of revolutionary heroism through the heroic and resilient fight to protect the Citadel and Quang Tri Town during 81 historic days and nights, the fiery summer of 1972 of our army and people, contributing significantly to the victory at the Paris conference table, creating momentum for the general offensive and uprising of the entire nation in the spring of 1975, completely liberating the South, and reunifying the country.
During that fierce 81-day battle, thousands of liberation soldiers across the country and the people of Quang Tri fought heroically, sacrificed, and remained forever on this land.
The National Martyrs' Cemetery on Route 9 is the eternal resting place of more than 10,800 heroic martyrs from across the country who fought heroically and sacrificed on the battlefield of Quang Tri and performed noble international duties in Laos during the resistance war against the US to save the country and gain national independence.

Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery is the resting place of 10,263 heroic martyrs. In the struggle for national liberation, many sons and daughters from all over the country followed the call of the Fatherland and sacrificed themselves for the independence of the nation and for the happiness of the people. Among them were the great contributions of the cadres, soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers of Group 559 - Truong Son Army, who fought bravely and sacrificed for 16 years on the road named after the great President Ho Chi Minh.
Coming to offer incense, flowers and write in the guestbook at the memorial site of General Secretary Le Duan, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed: “Comrade General Secretary Le Duan, an outstanding leader of our Party, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, an excellent son of his homeland Quang Tri. Comrade Le Duan's entire life and career contributed to the cause of national liberation and the building of socialism, and the development of Vietnam. Comrade Le Duan's great contributions and contributions have made Vietnam famous and will last forever in the glorious and heroic history of the nation.
