At exactly 6:30 local time (4:30 Hanoi time) on the morning of October 9, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and the high-ranking delegation of our country arrived at Pyongyang International Airport, beginning a State visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea at the invitation of General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un.

At Pyongyang International Airport, two rows of honor guards stood on both sides of the red carpet. Alternate member of the Politburo, State Councilor, Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Song Nam welcomed General Secretary To Lam at the foot of the plane's stairs. General Secretary To Lam walked along the red carpet and shook hands with North Korean officials who came to welcome the delegation and the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in North Korea. North Korean children waved flags and flowers to welcome General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

North Korea is one of the first countries in the world to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam (since 1950). This is a traditional friendship that has been carefully cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kim Il Sung and generations of leaders of the two countries.

During the struggle for national liberation, North Korea also stood side by side with and helped Vietnam. Vietnam also always supported and accompanied North Korea in difficult times.

General Secretary To Lam's State visit to North Korea this time takes place at a time when the two countries are practically celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1950-2025) and the Vietnam-North Korea Friendship Year 2025, vividly demonstrating the importance that the two Parties and two States attach to the traditional friendship between Vietnam and North Korea.

The visit continues to affirm Vietnam's consistent foreign policy of valuing relations with traditional friendly countries./.
