Nearly two months after its launch, the program to support the Cuban people received more than 500 billion VND.

On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025) and the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year 2025, with the consent of the Party, the State, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society chaired and coordinated with central departments, ministries, branches and organizations to launch a program to support the Cuban people with the theme "65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship" nationwide.

After nearly 2 months of launching, as of 10:00 a.m. on October 8, the total amount received through account 2022 reached more than 467 billion VND, with more than 2 million donations, not to mention 55.9 billion VND transferred through the Red Cross system of provinces and cities.

The campaign to support the Cuban people with the theme “65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship” is a humanitarian initiative of foreign affairs scope, demonstrating the solidarity, loyalty and steadfastness of the Vietnamese people with the Cuban people - a country facing many difficulties due to economic crisis, natural disasters and prolonged embargo.

Through nationwide mobilization activities, the Program conveys the message “Vietnam-Cuba, forever side by side in challenges” and affirms “When Cuba faces difficulties, Vietnam cannot sit still.”

Previously, on September 1, 2025, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, under the witness of General Secretary To Lam and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, comrade Do Van Chien, on behalf of the Party, State and People of Vietnam, presented the first installment of nearly 385 billion VND to the Cuban people.

The program affirms that the special Vietnam-Cuba relationship is an exemplary, loyal, pure and rare symbol in international relations, which was diligently cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro. The activity clearly demonstrates the consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam in strengthening solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Cuba, contributing to enhancing the prestige and international position of Vietnam and further tightening the comradely and brotherly relationship between the two peoples.

During the 65 days, from August 13, 2025 to October 16, 2025, the support activities contributed to fostering the tradition of international solidarity, spreading the spirit of humanity and community responsibility, and arousing the loyal and steadfast feelings of the Vietnamese people towards the Cuban people. Thereby, strengthening the trust and social consensus in the people's foreign policy of the Party and State, affirming the strength of national solidarity and the profound human values of the Vietnamese people.

In the coming time, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam and the Cuban Red Cross to implement the transfer of support resources and information on the results of their use in Cuba.

The program to support the Cuban people with the theme “65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship” has become a convergence point of friendship and cultural creativity, with many meaningful activities such as the songwriting campaign “Vietnam-Cuba: Forever the Song of Friendship,” photo exhibitions, documentary films, art and people exchanges. These activities arouse pride, love and attachment between the two peoples, becoming a prominent cultural mark of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year 2025./.
