Established in 1965, Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center is currently a public service unit under the Department of Meritorious People, Ministry of Home Affairs . The political task of the Center is to receive, manage, nurture, treat, rehabilitate and implement policies and regimes for war invalids and seriously ill soldiers of grade 1/4, with a labor loss rate of 81% or more, with special injuries. Over the past 60 years, the Center has received thousands of war invalids and sick soldiers injured in the battlefields of the resistance wars against France and the US, protecting the northern and southwestern borders and performing international duties in Laos and Cambodia for convalescence and treatment.
Currently, the Center is nurturing, treating and implementing policies and regimes for 84 seriously wounded and sick soldiers of level 1/4 from 13 provinces and cities nationwide. Of these, 51 wounded and sick soldiers were injured during the resistance war against the US; 33 wounded and sick soldiers were injured during the period of protecting the northern and southwestern borders, volunteer soldiers in Laos, Cambodia and during the period of building and protecting the country.
Among the 84 wounded and sick soldiers, there are 5 female wounded soldiers; some wounded soldiers are children of ethnic minorities such as Tay, Nung, Pa Co. The specific injuries of the wounded and sick soldiers being treated at the Center, most of them have injuries to the spine causing hemiplegia, all daily activities must be done by wheelchair or rocking chair. The remaining wounded and sick soldiers have combined injuries such as amputated arms, amputated legs, damaged eyes, head injuries...
Over the years, with dedication, devotion, responsibility, treating wounded and sick soldiers as their own relatives, the staff, civil servants and workers of the Center have spared no effort day and night to care for, treat and complete all assigned tasks, worthy of the trust of the Party, State and people, helping wounded and sick soldiers have a happy, optimistic life, stable in thought, and peace of mind during treatment.
In recent years, leaders of the Party, State, local authorities and people, socio-economic organizations and individuals have paid attention to visit, encourage, give gifts, and provide material and spiritual support, contributing to reducing difficulties in life, reducing the pain of wounds, helping seriously wounded and sick soldiers continue to preserve and promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and well implement Uncle Ho's teaching "Wounded soldiers are disabled but not useless".

Moved to return to visit Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center - a red address, a place that preserves the indomitable spirit and strong will of the country's outstanding children, General Secretary To Lam sent his sincere regards and deepest encouragement to the war invalids, sick soldiers, and all cadres, civil servants and workers of the Center.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the General Secretary expressed his deep gratitude, sincere affection and great admiration to you, my brothers and sisters - those who fought bravely, sacrificing their youth and bodies for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Despite suffering from war-related injuries, you have always maintained your qualities, will, faith and optimism, truly shining examples for the younger generations to be proud of, learn from and follow.
The General Secretary praised the efforts, dedication and responsibility of the staff, doctors and nurses of Thuan Thanh Nursing Center for War Invalids - the silent but loving people who contributed to bringing warmth, safety and the best care to war invalids and sick soldiers; thanked the wives and relatives of war invalids and sick soldiers who sacrificed and put aside their own lives to stay at the Center, wholeheartedly caring for and accompanying comrades to overcome injuries and illnesses.
The General Secretary emphasized that our Party, State and people have always been consistent in the viewpoint: "People with revolutionary contributions are precious assets of the nation", a sacred symbol of patriotism and Vietnamese morality. The work of "Repaying gratitude", "Drinking water, remembering its source" is not only a major policy, but also a command from the heart, a political responsibility, and morality of the entire political system and society.
The General Secretary said that in order to better care for the lives of people with revolutionary contributions, in recent years, the Party and State have issued many preferential policies and regimes. In 2024, the Government issued Decree No. 77/2024/ND-CP dated July 1, 2024, stipulating the levels of allowances, subsidies and preferential regimes for people with revolutionary contributions. On April 23, 2025, the President signed Decision No. 689/QD-CTN on giving gifts to people with revolutionary contributions on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1945 - April 30, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). On June 13, 2025, the President also signed Decision No. 1000/QD-CTN on giving gifts to people with revolutionary contributions on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day. The Government also approved the Plan to implement the Planning of the system of social facilities for nurturing and caring for people with revolutionary contributions in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 (Decision No. 1577/QD-TTg dated December 16, 2024) to ensure that people with revolutionary contributions have access to and enjoy comprehensive care services, both physically and mentally.
The General Secretary requested that Party committees, authorities and organizations at all levels of Bac Ninh province continue to pay attention and take better care of the material and spiritual lives of war invalids, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services. It is not only about care but also about creating conditions for them to continue to contribute and spread their willpower and positive values of life to the community.
The General Secretary hopes that the wounded and sick soldiers will continue to uphold the tradition of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, live happily and healthily, and be a shining example for their children and grandchildren to follow. Each person is a vivid symbol of the Vietnamese will and determination - a living testament to the spirit of patriotism, indomitability, and loyalty, continuing to be the flame that inspires the revolution for future generations.


On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam and representatives of the leaders of the Central Committee, ministries, and branches, and Bac Ninh province presented gifts to the wounded and sick soldiers being treated at the Center; representatives of 5 families of martyrs who were awarded the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate by the Prime Minister in June 2025 (5 wounded and sick soldiers being treated at the Center who died due to special relapse of their wounds); and the staff of Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center.
