"Vietnam - Golden History Pages" is a light sculpture in the shape of a history book, implying that Vietnamese history is a golden history book and President Ho Chi Minh is the one who wrote the brilliant golden pages in the contemporary history of the nation.
The work highlights his immortal saying: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom" - an eternal truth, illuminating the path to the future of the nation.
The work has a special size with a width of 1,945mm, a height of 2,025mm and 79 pages.
Each number carries a profound meaning: The width of 1,945mm reminds us of a sacred milestone in the nation's history - 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
The height of 2,025mm symbolizes the current milestone - 2025, the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, marking an era of growth.
The 79 pages of the book symbolize the 79 springs that Uncle Ho lived fully for the country and the people.
The three main symbols of the work are the images of the Lac bird, the lotus flower and the dragon. The Lac bird represents the thousand-year history of the nation's civilization.
Dragon is an image associated with the thousand-year culture of the nation.
Lotus flower represents the noble spirit of the nation, and is also a characteristic of Uncle Ho's hometown of Kim Lien.
The work is displayed at the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site, Nam Dan. This will be a special highlight, a meaningful cultural meeting place for people and tourists when they return to Uncle Ho's hometown of Sen Village.
The work is designed with a special structure, allowing sunlight to shine through the sculptures, creating shapes on the surface of the book. Depending on the time of day, the light will depict symbolic images such as lotus flowers, Lac birds... which are symbols rich in Vietnamese cultural meaning.
Notably, at two special moments, from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. and from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m., the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh appears clearly, creating a sacred and emotional moment for the audience.
