Total import-export value through Lao Cai border gate is estimated at nearly 2.3 billion USD.

According to information from the Customs Branch of Region VII, the total value of goods cleared through Lao Cai border gates in September 2025 increased compared to the previous month.

According to statistics, the average number of vehicles passing through Lao Cai border gates is 495 vehicles/day, including 70 export vehicles and 425 import vehicles.

The total import-export value through border gates in September 2025 is estimated at more than 318 million USD (up 3.8% compared to August but down 15.62% compared to the same period in 2024), the accumulated value in 9 months is estimated at more than 2,286 million USD (down 25.19% compared to the same period, reaching 57.16% of the plan).

Specifically, the export value in September is estimated at more than 137 million USD (up 2.58% compared to the previous month, down 42.53% over the same period; cumulatively reaching more than 1,078 million USD, down 43.33%, reaching 51.84% of the plan); the import value is estimated at nearly 152 million USD (up 4.96% compared to the previous month, up 86.44% over the same period; cumulatively reaching more than 809 million USD, up 38.75%, reaching 73.57% of the plan).

Other types such as temporary import for re-export, border transfer, transit, and import-export by enterprises in the province at other border gates are estimated at more than 29 million USD, up 3.64% over the previous month, down 48.12% over the same period; cumulatively reaching nearly 399 million USD, down 29.55%, reaching 48.64% of the plan.

Imports of mainly vegetables, fruits and coke increased sharply, while exports decreased sharply due to durian being much lower than in 2024.

In September 2025, the authorities issued preferential C/O (Preferential Certificate of Origin) for more than 30,000 tons of goods, including dragon fruit, rambutan, tapioca starch, dried cassava chips, and durian, with an estimated value of 24 million USD.
