Petrovietnam General Director Le Ngoc Son: Continuing resources, creating the future, bringing Petrovietnam to new heights

“With the spirit of “One team – One goal”, together we will continue to open up opportunities in difficulties and challenges, renew old motivation and add new motivation, bringing the Group to new heights”, the new General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ) Le Ngoc Son emphasized.
On March 20, Petrovietnam held a ceremony to announce and award decisions to Mr. Le Ngoc Son as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, and General Director of the Group.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Hoang Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises; comrade Nguyen Long Hai, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc; leaders representing Central Committees, Ministries, Branches, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, and the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc.

On Petrovietnam's side, there was comrade Le Manh Hung, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group; along with comrades members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, members of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Directors, leaders of the Group's specialized departments/offices, leaders of political and social organizations, leaders of member units, branches, and project management boards under the Group.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Department of Personnel Organization of the Capital Management Committee, the Organization Board of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, and the Human Resources Management Board of Petrovietnam announced the decisions: appointing members of the Board of Directors, appointing the General Director and approving the participation in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, term 2020 - 2025 for comrade Le Ngoc Son.

Comrade Nguyen Hoang Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, presented the decision to appoint a member of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam to comrade Le Ngoc Son.

Comrade Nguyen Long Hai, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, presented the decision to approve the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Group to comrade Le Ngoc Son.

Comrade Le Manh Hung, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam, presented the decision to appoint the Group's General Director to comrade Le Ngoc Son.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Capital Management Board Nguyen Hoang Anh congratulated Petrovietnam on completing key leadership personnel, and congratulated comrade Le Ngoc Son on being entrusted with the new task. Affirming that this is an honor but also a very heavy responsibility, the Chairman of the Capital Management Board believes that with his extensive work experience, as a qualified officer with practical experience in management and operation, holding many important positions in the Group, comrade Le Ngoc Son will, together with the collective leadership, officers and employees, continue to promote the achievements, strive to overcome difficulties to grow and develop the Group more and more sustainably.

Comrade Nguyen Hoang Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Committee, delivered a speech assigning tasks.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Le Ngoc Son thanked the leaders of the Government, the Central Committees, Ministries, and Branches, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, and the Group's leadership for their trust and confidence in assigning him the important responsibilities of Deputy Party Secretary, Member of the Board of Directors, and General Director of the Group. At the same time, Comrade Le Ngoc Son expressed his deep gratitude to the elders and generations of Oil and Gas workers who have explored, nurtured, built, and developed the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group into the largest economic group in the country, contributing to ensuring energy security, economic security, food security, and national defense security of the country.

Comrade Le Ngoc Son, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of Petrovietnam delivered a speech accepting the assignment.

Appointed to the position of General Director of the Group, Comrade Le Ngoc Son emphasized that this is not only a source of pride but also a huge responsibility for him personally. Stating that in the coming period, in addition to favorable conditions, Petrovietnam will also have to face many difficulties, Comrade Le Ngoc Son believes that: With the spirit of "One team - One goal", together we will continue to open up opportunities in difficulties and challenges, renew old motivation and add new motivation, bringing the Group to new heights".

In that spirit, in his new position, comrade Le Ngoc Son said that he will work with the Group's leadership, the collective of cadres, party members, and employees of the Oil and Gas Group to focus on 6 key tasks to renew old motivations, supplement new motivations, and bring the Group to new heights: improving leadership and direction capacity; enhancing corporate culture; perfecting institutions and policies; improving corporate governance; optimizing investment and financial portfolios; expanding value chains, and developing science and technology.

“I pledge to continue the tradition, courage and will of the Oil and Gas people, “fire seekers”, to continue to inherit and promote the cultural values that have been shaped and created over more than 6 decades of formation, construction and development; with the motto “Continuing resources, creating the future”, striving to make every effort, working side by side with the Group’s leadership, member units, officers and employees of the entire Group, uniting, joining hands and striving to successfully carry out the tasks assigned by the Party and State and the goals set by the Group, building and developing Petrovietnam into the leading Industry - Energy Group in the country and the region”, said Comrade Le Ngoc Son.

On behalf of the leadership, cadres, workers and employees of the entire Group, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam Le Manh Hung congratulated comrade Le Ngoc Son on being trusted and assigned the tasks of Deputy Secretary, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of the Group. Chairman of the Board of Directors Le Manh Hung expressed his hope that the Party, the State, the Committees, Ministries, branches, and the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc will continue to pay attention, support, help, lead and direct the Group to complete its production and business tasks, successfully implement the development strategy in the new period, and resolve the difficulties that the Group is facing. Comrade Le Manh Hung called on the leadership, cadres, party members and workers in the entire Group to continue promoting the spirit of "One team - One goal" with the motto "accompanying, synchronous, comprehensive, continuous, and goal-oriented", focusing on building and developing the Group in a stable and sustainable manner, becoming the pride of the Oil and Gas workers, of the country and of the Vietnamese people.
