Ministry of Construction works with Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on social housing development
According to Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, yesterday afternoon, a working delegation of the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh had a working session with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on the implementation of social housing projects and the orientation for social housing development.
Mr. Pham Dang Ho - Head of Urban Development Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction - said that according to the target assigned by the Prime Minister , by 2030, Ho Chi Minh City needs to develop 199,400 social housing units. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has 72 commercial housing projects and urban areas that are eligible to reserve 20% of land for social housing with a scale of 408 hectares; the expected number of apartments is about 115,800 units.
According to the Deputy Minister of Construction, in recent times, social housing in the city has had many positive changes. In the near future, the city will have many social housing projects put into use, so it is necessary to direct investors to publicly and transparently announce information, ensure the right subjects, avoid taking advantage of policies and price differences. At the same time, strengthen inspection and control of social housing prices of investors.
Mr. Sinh also hopes that the city will soon have a plan and a breakthrough solution to develop social housing. In the near future, many large enterprises will participate in developing social housing, hoping that the city will cooperate with the spirit of "speed" so that by 2026 there will be a breakthrough in supply.
