In 2024, the work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values and cultural heritages continued to achieve new achievements; the construction of a grassroots cultural environment achieved encouraging results, contributing to improving the effectiveness of building a healthy cultural environment, promoting the values and roles of family, community and society. The work of building and developing literature and arts continued to achieve many positive results. Activities   Literary and artistic creation is increasingly vibrant, rich in content, and diverse in expression methods. The year 2024 marks a transformation in the cultural industry from policy to practice. The cultural industry is becoming a trend and is identified as an important, sustainable part, contributing to the country's growth.

In 2024, Vietnamese sports won a total of 1,214 international medals (including 482 gold medals, 360 silver medals, and 372 bronze medals). International tourists to Vietnam in 2024 are estimated at 17.5 million, up 38.9% over the same period in 2023; domestic tourists are estimated at 110 million, up 1.6% over the same period in 2023. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at about VND 840 trillion, up 23.8% over the same period in 2023.

Cultural and foreign affairs work has many bright spots. In 2024, the Ministry organized the signing of 11 international cooperation documents (02 international agreements on behalf of the Government, 09 international agreements on behalf of the Ministry) during visits by senior leaders of the Party and State, developed 14 plans to implement foreign affairs activities, 9 projects; many activities and events for international exchange and cooperation on culture, sports and tourism were successfully organized, promoting the image and contributing to strengthening the country's international position...

In Gia Lai province, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the direction and administration of the Provincial People's Committee, the coordination of departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities; the efforts of all civil servants and public employees of the entire culture, sports and tourism sector have achieved encouraging results. In 2024, the province's athletes participated in 35 national and international high-performance sports tournaments, winning 192 medals (39 gold medals, 53 silver medals and 100 bronze medals). The total number of visitors and tourists to Gia Lai is estimated at 1.34 million, an increase of 11.7% compared to 2023; of which, 12 thousand international visitors, 1.328 million domestic visitors. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND890 billion, up 12.7% compared to 2023. In addition, the province focuses on building a healthy life, lifestyle and cultural environment; attaches importance to preserving and promoting national cultural heritages; The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has received due attention; propaganda and education on ethics and lifestyle and prevention of domestic violence, prevention of abusive behaviors have been effective...

Speaking at the conference, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the culture, sports and tourism sector to truly innovate its thinking, make breakthroughs in creating development space for culture and tourism to "take off"; dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility for the common good. The whole sector needs to be highly determined and make great efforts to promptly, flexibly and effectively organize the implementation of tasks and solutions with the spirit of "The Party has directed, the Government has agreed, the National Assembly agrees, the people support, the Fatherland expects", "only discuss and do, not retreat", with innovative, strategic thinking, far-sighted, broad-minded, thinking deeply, doing big things; promoting intelligence, courage, valuing time and decisiveness".
