Total retail sales of goods and services in August 2025 are estimated at 6,100 billion VND.

In August 2025, due to the impact of weather, prolonged heavy rain and risk of landslides, the number of visitors visiting and shopping in localities in the province tended to decrease, causing revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and transportation services to decrease compared to previous months.

Trade and service business activities, import and export continued to recover, with a fairly high growth rate compared to the same period; goods were abundant and diverse, ensuring supply for production and consumption, there were no shortages of goods or price hikes in the area; coordination in grasping information, market situation, goods and organizing inspection, control and handling of violations were regularly strengthened, contributing to stabilizing the market, protecting the rights of consumers and legitimate production and business enterprises.

Total retail sales of goods and services in August 2025 are estimated at VND 6,100 billion, up 2.2% over the previous month. It is estimated that in the first 8 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and service revenue will reach VND 46,758.7 billion, reaching 55% of the Plan (VND 85,000 billion).

In general, the market in Lao Cai province in August 2025 was relatively stable, goods met the production needs of businesses and people's consumption. Prices of items such as food, foodstuffs and essential goods did not fluctuate much.

The Provincial Steering Committee 389 has directed its member sectors to monitor and grasp market developments, forecast possible fluctuations in prices, supply and demand of goods; to promptly detect and strictly handle speculation, hoarding, selling goods at higher prices than listed prices and violations of business conditions, measurement and quality of goods. Strengthen propaganda work so that organizations and individuals strictly comply with legal regulations in the production and trading of goods; raise awareness of producers and traders about food hygiene and safety for public health and sustainable agricultural development.
