Tottenham closes new signing for 60 million pounds

After many negotiations, Tottenham have reached an agreement with Crystal Palace to sign midfielder Eberechi Eze.

Eze is set to join Tottenham.

Givemesport said Tottenham will have to pay a £55 million transfer fee plus £5 million in add-ons to own Eze. Previously, the England international informed Palace of his desire to move to Tottenham to play.

With James Maddison out with a long-term injury, Eze could be thrust into Tottenham's starting line-up, taking on the 'number 10' role under manager Thomas Frank. The Palace star can also play on the wing, providing an additional outlet for Spurs' attack.

Before signing Eze, Tottenham were planning to sign another attacking midfielder. Spurs initially approached midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, but he turned down the offer and signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal were the team that wanted to sign Eze, however the Gunners stopped negotiations after recruiting Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon. Tottenham seized the opportunity and quickly reached an agreement to sign the England international.

Eze had an impressive 2024/25 campaign, playing a key role in Palace's FA Cup triumph, finishing last season with 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
