Domestic tours lasting 2-4 days, conveniently accessible by road or short flights, are becoming the dominant choice in the market. Many travel agencies report a sharp increase in tour bookings, with many programs nearly fully booked.
A representative from BenThanh Tourist stated that although the long holiday period presents an opportunity to stimulate tourism, consumer sentiment this year is more cautious. International fluctuations, including geopolitical conflicts and rising fuel prices, are directly impacting tourists' spending decisions.
In this context, domestic tourism continues to dominate as customers prioritize safety, flexibility, and affordability. Notably, the Central Highlands region has emerged as an attractive destination thanks to recent promotional activities and tourism events.
Among them, Mang Den attracts attention thanks to its pristine natural landscape, cool climate, and resort-like atmosphere suitable for escaping the heat during peak season.
Mr. Tony Hung Tran, representative of Golden Smile Travel Company, said that destinations near Ho Chi Minh City such as Vung Tau, Phan Thiet, Bao Loc, or 2-3 day tours to the Mekong Delta are selling best, suitable for the limited time and spending capacity of most customers.
Simultaneously, businesses are introducing many new products to refresh the customer experience, such as day-long motorbike tours combined with exploring local life, attracting younger groups of tourists.
According to a representative from Viet Travel Company, 4-day domestic tours in Central Vietnam, priced at around 8 million VND per person, are being chosen by many tourists. In addition, shorter, lower-priced tours remain attractive amidst people tightening their spending, such as the 1-day My Tho tour combining visits to traditional craft villages and culinary experiences.
According to travel agencies, despite market fluctuations, this year's holiday season still recorded high occupancy rates, with many programs already fully booked.
Tours to China dominate the international market this summer.
In the international market, tours to China continue to lead the outbound summer trend. According to Mr. Vu Truong, Director of Nature Tourist, the number of tourists traveling to China currently accounts for the largest proportion of total outbound tourists. The company operates approximately 20 routes, focusing on destinations with direct flights and competitive prices such as Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Hainan, while also expanding longer itineraries such as the 9-day Xinjiang tour, which strongly attracts tourists during holidays.
Ms. Truong Thuy Chau, representative of Viet Travel, said that tours to China continue to be the most popular, priced from 12 million VND, especially in the 5-day, 4-night segment thanks to convenient group visas. High-end routes such as Beijing - Shanghai - Hangzhou (around 25 million VND) maintain their appeal, alongside new products such as Guilin, Inner Mongolia, and Xinjiang.
According to businesses, the appeal of this market stems from its unique scenery, reasonable costs, favorable visa policies, and strong viral effect on social media, especially among young travelers.
