Ho Chi Minh City: Key projects under construction during holidays

(HTV) - During the September 2nd holiday, the atmosphere at key construction sites in Ho Chi Minh City remained bustling. Thousands of engineers and workers worked through the holiday at the An Phu and Ring Road 3 intersections to ensure progress and early completion, contributing to reducing congestion and enhancing inter-regional traffic connectivity.

Key projects under construction during the holidays

During the National Day holiday on September 2, when many people take time to rest and relax with their families, the working atmosphere at key construction sites in Ho Chi Minh City is still busy and urgent. At the XL10 package for the construction of the N3 and N4 overpasses of the An Phu intersection project, hundreds of engineers and workers are still at the construction site, braving the sun and rain, determined to keep up with the progress.

Many projects are being accelerated, determined to complete on schedule.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Tu - Deputy Project Manager, said: Although the whole country is on holiday, because the project has been delayed, the construction unit has encouraged all staff and workers to work continuously, even adding extra shifts, and adjusting working hours flexibly to save time.

Accompanying the contractor, the supervision consultant also arranges personnel to be on duty 24/7 at the construction site, ensuring supervision of construction progress and quality.

The bustling construction atmosphere also took place at the XL6 package to build the HC1-02 underpass. Here, all machinery, equipment and human resources were mobilized to the maximum. Mr. Vu Quoc Doanh - an officer of Truong Son Construction Corporation said that the contractor is focusing on bored pile construction combined with site clearance. The construction across the road with 3 shifts and 4 crews has helped the workload reach about 60 - 70%.

According to Mr. Ngo Van Dung - project supervision consultant, the specificity of this package is that it requires both construction and traffic safety in areas with very high traffic density such as Cat Lai port and Rach Chiec. Therefore, when the site is available, the team of workers must concentrate to speed up the progress, making up for the time affected by the relocation of technical infrastructure and traffic flow.

Urgent construction atmosphere at key projects in Ho Chi Minh City during the holidays

Not only at the An Phu intersection project, the spirit of working through holidays is also clearly shown at the large construction site of Ring Road 3. The goal of opening 14.7 km of the Eastern Expressway and opening more than 32 km of the Western Expressway through Ho Chi Minh City by the end of this year is urging thousands of engineers and workers to work tirelessly on the construction site day and night.

Mr. Luong Minh Phuc - Director of the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said: maintaining construction throughout the holiday not only demonstrates the determination and responsibility of the team but also avoids having to re-mobilize and restart the construction site, thereby helping to improve efficiency and ensure progress.

To date, the Ring Road 3 project through Ho Chi Minh City has achieved a total volume of over 55%, while the An Phu intersection has reached 71%. When completed, these two projects will play a particularly important role in completing gateway traffic, inter-regional connectivity, contributing to the socio -economic development of the city and the region.
