Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai agree on a focal point to build three bridges connecting the two localities.

The Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a Notice of Conclusion of the City People's Committee leaders at a working session on planning and investment in traffic construction connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai province.

After the meeting, the two localities agreed on the necessity of investing in the construction of Cat Lai Bridge and Dong Nai 2 Bridge. The competent authority implementing these two projects is the People's Committee of Dong Nai province.

For the Phu My 2 Bridge Project, the two sides agreed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will be the competent authority to implement the Project.

Regarding the project to build a railway connecting Tan Son Nhat Airport with Long Thanh Airport, the two localities agreed to assign the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction to urgently preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, agencies and units to advise and propose to the City People's Committee.

The two sides also agreed to assign the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction to urgently preside over and coordinate with the Dong Nai Province Department of Construction and relevant departments and units to establish a working group to implement connecting traffic projects.

In which, the Director of the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City is assigned as the Head of the Team, the Director of the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province is assigned as the Deputy Head, the members are leaders of relevant departments of the two localities.

The Working Group develops regulations, functions, tasks, and an operational plan with the criteria of prioritizing highly feasible projects, and allocates a list of key projects for the 2026-2030 period.

Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Departments of Construction coordinate with relevant agencies to implement the following tasks.

According to the assessment of the People's Committees of Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, investing in connection projects between the two localities to connect to Long Thanh Airport is very urgent in the context that this airport will be put into operation in early 2026.
