On August 16, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a ceremony to honor and reward excellent students and excellent teachers in the city for the 2022-2023 school year.
In recent times, the work of fostering excellent students in Ho Chi Minh City has continuously improved in quality and efficiency with many solutions from strengthening facilities, equipment, and teaching aids to meet the requirements of innovative teaching methods to implementing preferential policies, attracting and employing excellent teachers, encouraging excellent students to develop their abilities... Managers and teachers of educational institutions always consider the work of fostering excellent students as a key task in the school year.
In the 2022-2023 school year, Ho Chi Minh City had 1 student win a bronze medal at the 2023 International Math Olympiad. The city's students won 98 prizes (including 5 first prizes) at the national high school competition for excellent students, and 3 projects won prizes at the national Science and Technology Competition. Of which, the first prize belonged to the project "Four-legged robot model to support search and rescue of people in landslide areas" of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted. This project continued to win the Special Prize at the REGENERON ISEF 2023 International Science and Technology Competition. For the Ho Chi Minh City-level cultural subject competition for excellent students, 1,978 high school students won prizes (including 105 first prizes), and 2,011 middle school students won prizes (including 72 first prizes).

In the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will encourage and motivate teachers with good expertise and love for their profession to continue to devote their efforts and intelligence to the training and nurturing of excellent students. Schools should be proactive, flexible, creative, diversify teaching and learning methods, and promote digital transformation in education. At the same time, talented students should be detected early to be proactive in selecting, nurturing, and training excellent student teams.
On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee awarded 27 teachers and 431 excellent and outstanding students at the city level.
* On the same day, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province held a conference to summarize the 2022-2023 school year and commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
In the 2022-2023 school year, the Education and Training sector of Binh Duong province has successfully completed the set goals and tasks. Specifically, 100% of 6-year-old children go to school, 100% of children complete primary education, ranking 2nd in the country in terms of average score in the 2023 high school graduation exam... At the conference, 12 students from Binh Duong province who won high prizes in the national excellent student competition received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training. The People's Committee of Binh Duong province awarded certificates of merit to 17 groups and 80 individuals (cadres, teachers, students) with outstanding achievements in the 2022-2023 school year. On this occasion, the Binh Duong Provincial Fund for Encouragement of Learning and Talent also honored 16 groups and 24 individuals who have made great efforts in building a learning society.
