Ho Chi Minh City launches many new products to serve tourists in the summer of 2025

Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department is constantly striving to position the destination brand in the domestic and international tourism market, contributing to promoting growth in the number of tourists to the city.

In Ho Chi Minh City, from the beginning of summer 2025 until now, many tourism and travel businesses continue to offer a variety of products and services for the summer.

The highlight of these products and services is that not only do they have new tour itineraries, but they are also the first to deploy a new type of transportation for the 2025 summer tourist season, meeting the tastes and trends of domestic and foreign tourists.

Exploiting new types of tourist transportation

Following the success of the special program on the occasion of International Children's Day June 1, 2025, Anh Viet Hop On Hop Off Vietnam Limited Liability Company (Anh Viet Company) launched the program "Extremely hot summer gifts."

This is an activity to welcome a special event when Ho Chi Minh City becomes the largest metropolis in the country, expanding its administrative boundaries with the integration of Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Binh Duong provinces. Parents can experience a short but interesting trip with their children, affordable cost, with free tickets worth up to 100,000 VND.

This is the biggest summer gift program ever of Anh Viet Company. The tour itinerary is designed not simply to sell tickets but to give family moments, childhood memories and love for Ho Chi Minh City.

Tourists do not need to go far, do not need to go to the mountains or the sea to have a meaningful summer starting right where we live - on every road, street corner, historical building... on the upper floor of an open-top bus.

The open space on the double-decker bus not only offers a unique 360-degree view, but also becomes an outdoor classroom where children can observe, learn and feel the city with all their senses.

As for adults, this is a precious opportunity to share memories, tell stories about Saigon and enjoy quality time with their children, which is sometimes a luxury in the hustle and bustle of life.

Similarly, Star Voyager is StarDream Cruises' premium mid-range cruise ship that offers round-trip cruises from Vietnam to Singapore for the first time, while also carrying passengers from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City.

Regarding the selection of Ho Chi Minh City as the home port and to organize exclusive itineraries, Mr. Michael Goh, Chairman of StarDream Cruises shared that this is an important step in the vision of developing Vietnam into a major cruise tourism center in Southeast Asia.

Through this regional deployment strategy, StarDream Cruises hopes to attract a wide range of tourists and contribute to the development of the cruise tourism industry as well as the combined air tourism model in Vietnam.

Saigontourist Travel Service Company (Saigontourist Travel) is the only unit to conduct a two-way cruise with the Star Voyager ship to welcome 6,000 international tourists of many nationalities to Vietnam, docking at Phu My port, visiting Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi and at the same time, for the first time, bringing 200 Vietnamese tourists on the Star Voyager ship on the route to Singapore directly from Phu My port. Joining the journey, Vietnamese tourists will have a complete experience on the cruise ship right at the peak of the summer season of 2025 at a reasonable cost.

Locating international tourist destinations

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luu, General Director of Saigontourist Travel, international cruise and river cruise tourism in Vietnam is recovering strongly. Efforts from proactively participating in fairs and promoting cruise tourism such as Seatrade in the United States, Spain, the Annual Conference of the Asian Cruise Alliance (ACSN) in the United States, Maldives, etc. over the years have helped promote and market destinations, and cruise lines around the world have chosen to include Vietnam in their tourism itineraries with long-term plans until 2030.

Besides serving international tourists, Saigontourist Travel also operates services and is a shipping agent, supplying many major shipping lines in the world when coming to Vietnam.

Regarding the maximum exploitation of diverse tourism potential and resources to become unique products, Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that strengthening coordination between the state, businesses, and the community, thereby promoting sustainable tourism development through the program "Each district has a unique tourism product."

“The development of unique tourism products requires close coordination between local authorities, travel agencies and local communities. After nearly 5 years of implementation, the program has created and announced more than 60 products. Local authorities play a role in guiding, connecting and supporting; while travel agencies are consultants in building, exploiting and operating tours. The community and businesses at the destination are the ones who directly provide services and experiences to tourists,” Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu emphasized.

Some experts pointed out that it is necessary to improve tourism capacity and awareness for the team and community to build a friendly, professional tourism environment according to global standards to help connect international tourism products and services.

At the same time, relevant parties need to mobilize social resources and create a cooperation mechanism with businesses to encourage many economic sectors to participate in tourism business activities and implement socialized investment.

Ho Chi Minh City needs to focus on specific surveys and have a roadmap to promote investment in the construction of technical infrastructure connecting road traffic, especially some types of transport with potential for tourism development such as public transport, waterways, and water ports associated with the goal of exploiting tours and tourist destinations./.
