The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has recently decided to reclaim several land plots from businesses in the High-Tech Park and inner city areas due to projects ceasing operations, improper leasing, or expired lease terms that were not renewed.
Notable examples include a series of land plots in the High-Tech Park and over 140 square meters on Vo Van Tan street frontage that were reclaimed because they no longer met the required usage conditions.
After reclamation, these land plots will be handed over to the receiving management agency to prevent encroachment, misuse, or illegal construction. The businesses involved must fulfill their remaining financial obligations, dispose of any assets on the land (if any), and cooperate in handing over the land as required.
The city also instructed relevant units to review and process land use right certificates, and to inspect and collect any outstanding financial obligations if necessary.
The land reclamation is taking place amidst Ho Chi Minh City's intensified review of land plots that have been allocated or leased but no longer meet the conditions for use or are slow to be put into operation. Cases where projects have ceased operations, leases have expired, or the entities no longer need the land are being considered for reclamation by the city to better manage the land fund.
