Kobe City connects direct flights with Vietnam, promoting tourist exchange

On the morning of April 23, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Ha Van Sieu had a meeting and worked with a delegation from Kobe City, Japan led by Mr. Imanishi Masao - Deputy Mayor of Kobe City.

At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Ha Van Sieu affirmed that Japan is one of the extremely important partners of Vietnam. In recent years, the number of Japanese tourists to Vietnam has increased, and in the opposite direction, Vietnamese tourists also increasingly love to travel to Japan, especially to the beautiful city of Kobe. Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu hopes that through today's meeting, the two sides will work together to promote the development of Vietnam - Kobe tourism in particular and Vietnam - Japan tourism in general.

Thanking the warm welcome of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Mr. Imanishi Masao - Deputy Mayor of Kobe City (Japan) said that Kobe City is located in the economic - tourism - cultural triangle of the Kansai region (Osaka - Kobe - Kyoto), an extremely attractive tourist destination in Japan. One of the famous places in Kobe is Mount Rokko, and especially the night view of the city when viewed from the top of the mountain is considered one of the three most beautiful night views in the country. Along with that is Arima hot spring - the oldest hot spring in Japan. This place is also famous for its famous Kobe beef, world-class sake and sweets such as cakes, candies, etc.

Kobe City is also known as a port city specializing in trade, so for a long time there have been many foreigners living here, including Vietnamese. Currently, there are about 9,000 Vietnamese people living and working in Kobe.

The Deputy Mayor of Kobe City happily announced that it is expected that by the end of April 2025, flights from Kobe to Ho Chi Minh City and from Kobe to Da Nang and vice versa will be officially operated by Nippon Travel Company (Japan) in collaboration with a number of Vietnamese travel companies. Kobe Airport is very close to the central area, which is also one of the favorable conditions for tourists when traveling by air.

Mr. Imanishi Masao hopes that the cooperation between Japanese and Vietnamese tourism businesses will contribute to bringing the image of the country, culture and people of Vietnam closer to the Japanese people and vice versa. At the same time, through the exploitation of direct flights, it will promote the number of tourists traveling between the two sides, enhancing exchange and cooperation activities, not only in the field of tourism but also in other fields.

Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu congratulated and appreciated the efforts of Kobe City and Nippon Travel Company in connecting Kobe and Vietnamese cities through direct flights. In order to make tourism cooperation as well as tourism connection and flight connection more effective, the leaders of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration proposed that the Japanese side create more favorable conditions in terms of visa policies and entry and exit procedures for Vietnamese tourists when visiting Japan. On the side of Kobe City, they will continue to work with Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to promote and introduce this new flight route as well as the tourism brand to the people of the two countries.

Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu also suggested that the two sides should create the best conditions for partners and businesses of the two countries to meet, exchange, and cooperate, and build many new and attractive tourism programs for tourists of the two countries. In addition, Vietnamese tourists love to travel to Japan for sightseeing, culinary enjoyment and shopping. Therefore, businesses need to design suitable tour programs, as well as connect with Japanese suppliers to bring Vietnamese tourists to attractive and reputable shopping destinations.

The leaders of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration expressed their hope that through aviation connections and cooperation between businesses of the two countries, along with the number of nearly 9,000 Vietnamese people living in Kobe, people-to-people exchanges, increased mutual understanding as well as cooperation in all fields between Vietnam and Kobe in the coming time will achieve many achievements and positive results.

The Deputy Director added that this year, Vietnam will attend the World Expo 2025 in Osaka (Japan) with the participation of Vietnam's leading traditional art troupe. This event will be an opportunity to promote the beauty of Vietnamese tourism, helping Japanese people know more about Vietnam and prioritize choosing Vietnam as a tourist destination. This is also an opportunity for businesses of the two countries to connect and cooperate, attract visitors, and promote the growth of tourist arrivals.
