The operation of the bus station is expected to solve the shortage of bus stops in the Northwest area of the city, and at the same time play an important role in connecting with metro line 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong) in the future.

In the first phase, the bus station serves route 24 (Mien Dong Bus Station - Hoc Mon) with 27 vehicles, operating 276 trips/day, with a frequency of 5-12 minutes. In the coming time, new bus routes will be opened such as: route 70-1 (Cu Chi - Tay Ninh ), 70-2 (Cu Chi - An Nhon Tay) and the bus route connecting Tan Son Nhat Airport - Hoc Mon Market. When fully exploited, the station will provide parking space for more than 60 buses with a total of about 62 vehicles operating each day.

The bus station is designed synchronously and modernly with the following items: internal roads, yards, waiting rooms, passenger pick-up and drop-off areas, executive offices, ticket sales areas, restrooms, canteens, along with water supply and drainage systems, electricity, fire protection, communications, trees and landscapes.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Bui Hoa An, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, affirmed: This is not just a bus station, but an important link in the urban transport infrastructure system, contributing to improving public transport capacity and creating convenience for people in the Northwest gateway area of the city.

Mr. An also emphasized that when metro line 2 is extended to Cu Chi, Hoc Mon Bus Station will become an important transit hub, helping to form a complete public transport network, reduce congestion, save costs and limit environmental pollution.

The city leaders acknowledged the efforts of the construction units and requested the Public Transport Management Center to manage and operate the bus station in a methodical and professional manner to meet the increasing travel needs of the people.
