In order to meet the increased travel demand of people during the National Day holiday on September 2, on the evening of August 28, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center announced a plan to increase public passenger transport activities during the 4-day holiday, from August 30 to September 2.
According to forecasts, the number of passengers traveling by public transport will increase sharply compared to the same period in 2024. Specifically, each day, about 3,200 passengers are expected to go to Can Gio, more than 3,000 passengers will use buses to Tan Son Nhat airport out of a total of 125,000 passengers passing through the port. Interprovincial bus stations are estimated to serve about 65,330 passengers/day, 9% higher than last year. In particular, on August 30 and September 2, the number of bus passengers may exceed 100,000/day. Metro Line 1 is also expected to receive a sudden increase in passengers on National Day evening, when people gather to watch fireworks.

To meet demand, metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) will increase the number of trips from 230 to 251 on August 30 and 31; 264 trips on September 1 and 2; operating hours will last from 5am to 11pm. Regarding buses, 105/107 routes will maintain their operating parameters; only routes 50 and 52 will be temporarily suspended from September 1 to 2.
The Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center requires transport units to prepare vehicles, personnel and backup plans, and at the same time strengthen supervision throughout the system to ensure safety and convenience for people.
