On March 24, Phenikaa University organized the program “Phenikaa Open day 2024”. Here, students were thoroughly answered about issues related to: quotas, majors, admission methods...; at the same time, they had real-life experiences as a student of the school.
In the morning, students visit the departments and rooms they intend to apply for. In addition to accessing equipment and learning tools for their major, they also attend a practical lesson taught directly by the school's lecturers.
Many students asked questions about their fields of interest and were directly answered by lecturers, as well as inspired by their passion, so that they could pursue their chosen fields.
In the afternoon, students are immersed in colorful games imbued with student spirit, "soft skills" when participating in group games, and behaving in a student environment.
Hoang Anh Thu, a student at Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted ( Ninh Binh ), said that she has not yet decided on her major. Coming to the event, she was curious and wanted to learn about Semiconductor Design, so she boldly registered to attend this trial class.
After attending the trial class and listening to the sharing and learning more information from businesses and schools, Thu has determined more clearly about her major and her choice for the upcoming exam.
Unlike Anh Thu, Hoang Minh Hiep, a student at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, said he had participated in a one-day student experience program at several universities. Before attending the event, Hiep had decided to study and pursue Biotechnology.
“Today's experience helps me gain additional knowledge for the field of study that I plan to pursue in the long term,” Hiep said.
Within the framework of the program, students also had the opportunity to participate in exchanges and listen to Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thanh Nam - Vice Principal of the Universityof Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) share about "Secrets to healing exam season".
With a lot of experience in the field of mental health care for students, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thanh Nam shared the difficulties and pressures before exams, pressure from family expectations, pressure from friends' achievements,... as well as creating motivation for students before the upcoming high school graduation exam.
Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Nam said that students are living in the technology era with the world called PAID (paying the price generation): Pressure, Always on - 24/7 connection, Information overloaded and Distracted.
Constant connection to cyberspace makes children suffer from the fear of missing out on something, so they constantly access the internet to update information, which erodes their physical and mental health and their awareness of social situations becomes increasingly poor (over-dependence on devices leads to mistakes).
To help students balance their mental health, according to Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Nam, students need to prepare themselves in the best possible way to take the exam effectively through four pillars: Physical, emotional, social, and cognitive.
Tong Thi Ngoc Quynh, a student at Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted (Ninh Binh), shared: “I am very happy because for the first time I am a student in a very interesting learning environment with modern equipment, spacious classrooms and friendly teachers. This experience will help me a lot in choosing a major, as well as choosing a school in the near future.”
At “Phenikaa Open Day 2024”, students have access to modern facilities and teaching equipment in an international standard university environment. This is an opportunity for them to discover their strengths and passions before choosing a career for the future.
In 2024, Phenikaa University will enroll a total of 11,296 students for 55 majors/training programs with 4 admission methods and 4 types of scholarships.
