Returning from the summer camp program, course 2-2023, Tran The Bao (7 years old), living in Rach Gia City ( Kien Giang ) was excited to meet many new friends for the first time and have fun and experience new things. The Bao shared: “In the past few days, I have been able to eat, play and have fun with many new friends. This is the first time I have been away from my parents for 3 days and have done many things myself such as folding towels, mosquito nets, blankets, clothes, etc. Now I know how to do laundry and wash dishes. I want to participate in the summer camp next year to learn more interesting things.”
Campers have fun and experience at the summer camp program, course 2-2023.
Knowing about the summer camp program from a friend, Ms. Pham Thi Sang, residing in Vinh Quang ward, Rach Gia city (Kien Giang) registered her child to participate in the program as a summer gift so that her child can have fun, be entertained and learn useful things.
Ms. Sang said: Seeing that the program has many useful skills training contents and a suitable program framework, she registered her daughter to participate. She hopes that the program will help her children increase their solidarity, harmony when working in groups with friends and independence.
“After attending the 1-2023 summer camp, my child knows how to wash dishes and fold clothes. He promised to study hard so that his parents can let him participate in the summer skills program next year. I am happy that my child had a meaningful summer and set learning goals for the new school year,” said Ms. Sang.
Campers are instructed in wound bandaging skills at the summer camp experience program course 2-2023.
In 2023, Kien Giang Youth Activity Center will enroll 2 summer camp courses with nearly 80 children aged 7-14 participating. Summer camp course 1 with the theme "Survival skills" with 50 children participating. Summer camp course 2 with the theme "Little Soldier" with 28 children participating. The summer camp program is implemented by the center every year. This is a typical comprehensiveeducational model for adolescents.
Comrade Dong Xuan Truong - Director of Kien Giang Province Youth Activity Center said: Because the campers are still young, we researched and designed a program that is age-appropriate and within their capabilities, ensuring that they can both learn and play.
"Each summer camp program is designed with different content but still ensures the training of independent skills such as folding clothes, mosquito nets, washing dishes, doing laundry... skills in bandaging wounds, first aid; handling insect bites; sports activities... Through the activities in the summer camp, we aim to nurture confidence and independence for the children during the 3 days of living away from their parents," said comrade Dong Xuan Truong.
