Recently, the SCMP newspaper based in Hong Kong (China) published an article describing the wonderful and unforgettable experiences on a train in Vietnam.
Tim Pile is a first-hand experiencer and veteran contributor to SCMP , who has written more than 300 travel articles for the site. He has traveled to more than 100 countries, seen people dragging suitcases down platforms and squeezing into crowded train compartments in a desperate attempt to find a seat.
However, the experience on the luxurious The Vietage by Anantara train brought a completely different experience.

Departing at 2pm on The Vietage by Anantara train from Nha Trang to Quy Nhon, Tim enjoyed champagne, cocktails, caviar and snacks on board for the first time.
“The experience on the 2pm train The Vietage by Anantara from Nha Trang to Quy Nhon gave me an unforgettable impression of train travel in Central Vietnam,” Tim wrote about the memorable experience.
The Vietage is developed by the Anantara brand, launched in 2020. The train offers memorable luxury travel itineraries. Two separate trains run daily in opposite directions, one departing in the morning from Da Nang to Quy Nhon and then to Nha Trang and the second departing from Nha Trang in the afternoon to Quy Nhon and heading to Da Nang.
As soon as you board the train, the staff will lead you through the train compartments, each with two seats and windows to watch the world around you during the journey. After you are seated, the staff will serve you champagne.

According to Tim, the train travels at an average speed of 50km/h (31mph), making it ideal for sightseeing along the way. Passengers can admire the coastal landscape, the bays and the spectacular beaches. The author moved from the private cabin to the bar area. Here, the staff prepared a variety of food and drinks, with passengers having a choice of alcoholic or soft drinks.
Looking out the train window, the scenery flashed before Tim’s eyes like a film. He wrote that he was particularly impressed by the scenery in Vietnam, the image of farmers wearing conical hats leading buffaloes around rice fields, or cranes wading to feed in lotus ponds.

The author is also very concerned about emissions and the environment. Tim said that traveling by train instead of car will help reduce about 80% of emissions, limiting global warming. Therefore, traveling by train is also an option for the green planet.
Delicious food
In addition to the bar area serving drinks, The Vietage by Anantara also serves passengers afternoon tea, including lobster and caviar, followed by sandwiches and scones with cream and jam for dessert, “What a charming and luxurious party,” Tim exclaimed.
According to chef Vinh Tran, 80% of the ingredients served on The Vietage are locally sourced, including lobster, caviar, cheese and jam. Vietnam is known as the second largest coffee grower and fifth largest tea producer in the world, so premium coffee and teas are always available to serve passengers. The culinary journey continues with charcuterie, lemon tart and strawberry cheesecake before arriving at Dieu Tri station, Quy Nhon.

Tim arrived at the Anantara Quy Nhon Villas beach resort as night fell. The room he booked had a private pool and could watch the sunset every day.
The next morning, Tim went to a local market, where he experienced choosing and buying ingredients for lunch with chef Vinh Tran. Then he visited the 12th-century Twin Towers in a large space of up to 6,000 square meters.

Twin Towers is one of the eight remaining Cham tower clusters in Binh Dinh today, one of the Cham cultural architectural relics with unique religious colors. Quy Nhon Twin Towers is also among the best preserved relics in Vietnam and is an interesting destination with many towers and temples, giving visitors a look at the treasure trove of architectural and cultural heritage of the ancient Champa civilization.
