The woman mentioned above is Ms. NVBT (46 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City). On the afternoon of June 24, Ms. T. unfortunately had a motorbike accident. When she was brought to the Emergency Department of Gia Dinh People's Hospital, the patient was in a state of drowsiness and vomiting a lot.
The woman was quickly diagnosed by doctors with multiple traumatic shock, severe traumatic brain injury, cerebral edema... Despite the intensive care team's dedicated treatment, the patient fell into a deep coma due to her severe condition.

Ms. T. underwent three evaluations and was diagnosed with brain death by the doctor. At this time, the hospital met with the family to explain the patient's condition and encouraged the family to consider organ donation to save lives.
In this situation, the family suppressed their grief and agreed to donate Ms. T's organs to save the lives of other patients in need of organ transplants.
“The accident happened so suddenly to my sister, the family could not believe it. But we hope that her passing can bring life to others,” the patient’s sister shared.

On the night of June 28, under the direct direction of Dr. Mai Phan Tuong Anh, Deputy Director of Gia Dinh People's Hospital, and in close coordination with the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center and supporting units, the professional team urgently met to develop a plan to collect and transplant donated organs.
Everything was done urgently every minute to open up the chance of life for many critically ill patients. After evaluating the brain death condition three times, the expert council confirmed that the patient was completely brain dead.
At 4:00 a.m. on June 29, a solemn and sincere gratitude ceremony for the patient took place right before the organ harvesting surgery.

The procedure is extremely strict, the organs must be collected synchronously, ensuring optimal quality for transplantation to the patient. Because the organs must be preserved in the best conditions and transported to the transplant centers in the shortest time, every minute is decisive.
The donor's heart was placed in a storage container at 5:13 a.m. after being removed from the chest.
Right at the gate of Gia Dinh People's Hospital, the traffic police escort team was on duty, ready to transport the donated organs to Tan Son Nhat airport to Hue Central Hospital for transplantation to patients with end-stage heart failure.
At 8:58 a.m., Hue Central Hospital announced good news: after receiving a heart from a brain-dead donor, the recipient's heart started beating again.
At the same time, the patient's two kidneys were also transplanted into two patients with end-stage chronic kidney failure at noon on June 29.
"We would like to express our deep gratitude to Ms. T. and her family. In the pain of loss, the family chose to sow life again, like a flame passed from hand to hand, continuing to burn brightly for other lives.
The hospital hopes that this noble gesture will continue to spread, so that more and more patients will be given the chance to live, to be reborn from kind hearts," Gia Dinh People's Hospital expressed.
