Speaking on behalf of the patients who received wheelchairs, Mr. Tran Hai Dang, from Ba Vinh hamlet, Hoa Thanh ward, shared: His father, Mr. Tran Van Loi, suffers from a cerebral hemorrhage, which weakens half of his body and makes walking difficult. Due to the family's difficult circumstances, they haven't been able to afford a wheelchair. Now, thanks to the Red Cross Society of the province's efforts in mobilizing benefactors to donate wheelchairs, he is deeply moved and grateful for the support and encouragement from the local government and the Society, which has helped his father have an easier means of transportation.
Ms. Pham Thi Sanh, representative of the sponsor, shared: “The donation of wheelchairs demonstrates the spirit of mutual support and sharing of difficulties with people with disabilities, helping them have useful tools to better integrate into the community. At the same time, it inspires compassion and encourages the joint efforts of organizations, individuals, businesses, philanthropists, and the entire society to help vulnerable people.”
Mr. Ho Hoang Thong, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Thanh Ward, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Red Cross Society and sponsors for their attention, support, and partnership in caring for the elderly, the sick, and the infirm. Mr. Thong hoped that Hoa Thanh Ward would continue to receive the attention, assistance, and support of organizations and sponsors to implement more charitable and humanitarian activities to help the elderly, the sick, and those in difficult circumstances in the ward improve their lives.
Mr. Le Quoc Van, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, presented a plaque acknowledging the generous donation and expressing his gratitude to the sponsor.
The wheelchair is a small gift, but one with great significance, aimed at supporting elderly, sick, and disadvantaged people to have easier access to transportation and personal activities. At the same time, it helps disabled and elderly people live more comfortably in their daily lives, reducing their dependence on relatives, especially those who are single or have small families.
The remaining 20 wheelchairs will be distributed by the Provincial Red Cross to localities within the province to promptly reach elderly, infirm, and sick people.
