Awarding 500 scholarships to disabled and orphaned students in Ho Chi Minh City

(NLDO) - The total value of scholarships, gifts, bicycles, and wheelchairs awarded by the organizers at the program is over 1 billion VND.

On December 8, the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of the Disabled and Orphans organized a scholarship program "For the future of disabled students" for 500 students in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the program, the organizers awarded 500 scholarships to students with a total value of more than 669 million VND.

Kang Sung Church donated 21 bicycles to students. The organizers also donated 23 wheelchairs to the disabled.

The total value of scholarships, gifts, bicycles, and wheelchairs awarded by the organizers at the program is over 1 billion VND.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, President of the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the series of activities to care for and support people with disabilities in the city is meaningful and humane. In particular, the scholarship program helps students overcome difficulties to be able to successfully complete their studies.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities and Orphans also organized many activities to care for people with disabilities in the city.

Specifically, organizing medical examinations and giving gifts at Vstar School (District 7); organizing visits and giving gifts to 100 disabled children at Hoang Mai Disabled School (Go Vap District). In addition, organizing recreational activities and giving gifts to students of the Vocational Education Center for the Disabled and Orphans.

The total budget for these activities is 3 billion VND. Thereby, showing deep concern for the disabled community nationwide.
