Ho Chi Minh City residents happily receive gifts on Independence Day

On September 2, from early morning at Van Lang Park Library, hundreds of people in An Dong Ward (HCMC) were excited, with bright faces, joining in the common joy of the national festival to receive Independence Day gifts.

Immediately after attending the opening ceremony of "National Solidarity Day" in Ward 29, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and leaders of An Dong ward visited and shared joy with people on the occasion of Independence Day and received meaningful gifts on the national festival.

Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc and the ward leaders encouraged the officers, civil servants, and police officers on duty to contribute to ensuring that each gift reaches the people in a thoughtful manner.

Joy shone in the eyes of the elderly, workers' families, and people in difficult circumstances when receiving meaningful Independence Day gifts.

An Dong Ward organized 10 locations so that all people, especially the elderly and the disadvantaged, could receive thoughtful and timely gifts.

Since early morning, many people have come to the gift distribution point at Van Lang Park Library, eagerly waiting for their turn to receive gifts. Mr. Ly De, 69 years old this year, sat in the back row waiting for his turn to receive gifts in a happy and nervous mood. Because this is the first time he has come to receive Independence Day gifts like this.

Holding the 200,000 VND gift for the father and daughter, Mr. Ly De was moved: “This money helps me cover my immediate living expenses. I am old and weak, unable to work, while still taking care of my daughter who is in 11th grade, so this gift is very precious. I feel warmed by the government’s concern.”

Also at the gift distribution point, Mrs. Tran Keu, 82 years old this year, was accompanied by her daughter to receive the Independence Day gift. Mrs. Tran Keu has 3 children but works as a factory worker, life is difficult. Now receiving the gift, Mrs. Tran Keu shared, "I am so happy to receive this meaningful gift." On National Day, September 2, her and her family's joy is even more complete, the family is warmer and happier to welcome Independence Day.

Although the gift of 100,000 VND is not a large amount of money, it contains deep sentiments. What people feel deeply is the care and sharing of the Party, State and local government, adding confidence and motivation to work together to firmly build the great national unity bloc, join hands to build a civilized, modern and affectionate Ho Chi Minh City.
