Awarding ceremony of "Industrial Energy Efficiency Award"

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade ; VECEA; Vietnam Electricity Group; representatives of a number of associations, research institutes, Departments of Industry and Trade; industrial enterprises, buildings, units, individuals who won awards, and many press and television agencies.

Using energy economically and efficiently has been of interest to the Party and State leaders and is considered one of the important pillars to ensure energy security as well as help the energy sector develop sustainably. Resolution No. 55/NQ-TW dated February 11, 2020 of the Politburo on the Energy Sector Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, clearly stated: “Energy conservation (E) must be considered an important national policy and the responsibility of the whole society”. Green transformation through efficient use of energy is an important solution for Vietnam to develop sustainably, moving towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.

The National Program on Energy Efficiency and Conservation for the 2019-2030 period (VNEEP3) aims to achieve energy savings of 8-10% of total national energy consumption in the period from 2019 to 2030.

Contributing to the above objectives, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology of Energy Conservation and Efficiency organizes 3 awards: Award for Energy Efficiency in Industry - Construction Works and Award for Highest Energy Efficiency Product. The awards are held annually.

The awards are held to recognize and honor businesses operating in the field of industrial production and typical construction works in implementing solutions for energy saving and efficiency. At the same time, promote and encourage businesses to implement advanced management and technology solutions to bring to market products with outstanding technical features, high energy efficiency and energy saving.

This is the 5th consecutive year the awards have been launched. Many effective and replicable solutions have been discovered and widely communicated to the business community. Through the awards, businesses affirm their brand reputation, enhance competition between businesses in the race to meet market demand and customer tastes in the direction of greener and smarter consumption.

The 2024 Energy Efficiency Awards have reached more than 800 units nationwide. The Organizing Committee also received a total of 279 competition dossiers, including the Energy Efficiency in Industry Award dossier, the Energy Efficiency in Construction Projects Award dossier and the Highest Energy Efficiency Product dossier.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized: "The proactive and active participation of the business community in the Awards shows the level of interest of businesses in the issue of energy saving, environmental protection and climate change response, demonstrating the social responsibility of the Vietnamese business community in the face of the requirements of green transformation and sustainable development."

Representing the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology for Energy Conservation and Efficiency - the host of the awards in recent years, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep - Chairman of the Association highly appreciated the quality of the entries for this year's awards. Mr. Hiep said: "With a large number of entries for the awards, the Organizing Committee has classified and evaluated the entries in accordance with the issued regulations and rules. In general, the entries prepared by the enterprises were detailed and clear with many specific supporting evidences. The members of the Jury were very fair and transparent in evaluating and selecting the most deserving units, products and individuals to be honored at the awards ceremony."

The 2024 Top Energy Efficiency Product Award has 12 enterprises awarded the Leader Cup. The list of 145 Top Energy Efficiency products certified by the Ministry of Industry and Trade is posted at https://tietkiemnangluong.com.vn/top-runner to help consumers easily look up information.

19 projects, including 8 new projects and 11 renovation projects, were selected to receive the 2024 Energy Efficiency in Construction Award.

Eleven industrial enterprises were selected to receive the 2024 Industrial Energy Efficiency Award. The award also honored 16 individuals who are energy managers with excellent and good achievements in energy management at the enterprise.

With a short time from launching the competition to receiving applications and judging, the Organizing Committee of the award received a total of 279 application sets, including 30 applications for Energy Efficiency in Industry, 30 applications for Energy Efficiency in Construction and 219 applications for Highest Energy Efficiency Products.
