Abandoned newborns are taken in and cared for by local people.

An abandoned newborn baby in Tinh Gia ward is being cared for by local residents.

Representatives from the People's Committee of Tinh Gia Ward, the Ward Police, and the Thuong Hai residential group visited the abandoned baby in the area.

Earlier, at approximately 8:30 PM on April 29, 2026, while on patrol duty to ensure security and order, the armed patrol team of Tinh Gia Ward Police received a report from the public about the discovery of an abandoned newborn baby in the grounds of Ngoai Hai Parish Church in Thuong Hai residential area.

The People's Committee of Tinh Gia Ward directed the Ward Police to quickly arrive at the scene and conduct an inspection and verification in accordance with regulations.

Initial checks revealed the abandoned infant was male and had no identification documents. The ward police, in coordination with local residents, took the child for a health check at the Hai Thanh Health Station, where his health was found to be normal.

Currently, the child is being cared for, monitored, and looked after by Ms. Nguyen Thi Y, born in 1968, residing in Thuong Hai residential area, Tinh Gia ward, in accordance with regulations. On the afternoon of May 7th, representatives from the Tinh Gia Ward People's Committee, the Ward Police, and the Thuong Hai residential area visited and presented gifts to the child. The Ward People's Committee also directed relevant agencies to ensure the child's safety and best interests.
