This new trend has attracted a lot of registrations and has been widely shared on social networks with excited comments such as "sleeping 5 days and 5 nights in Georgia", "waiting for the holidays just to sleep".

The world's leading hotel booking app based in the Netherlands, Booking, recently announced the 10 destinations in the Asia- Pacific region where tourists want to travel to sleep the most.

Vietnam ranked 6th, tied with Singapore, with 67% of respondents saying the main purpose of their trip was to enjoy good, uninterrupted sleep.

Mainland China came in first place with 83% of the vote. Hong Kong came in second with 76%, followed by Thailand (75%), South Korea (70%), India (68%), Singapore (67%), Taiwan (55%), Australia (53%) and Japan (51%).

Sleep tourism is predicted to be a popular trend in the future. The fact that nearly 67% of Vietnamese tourists seek vacations just to sleep well shows that the Vietnamese tourism industry needs to change, accommodation facilities need to provide more amenities and convenient services to bring tourists a healthy and relaxing vacation.

Sleep tourism is also tipped to be one of the biggest travel trends in 2024.

On March 21, TechRadar - a publication of Future Publishing in the UK - shared the content of a report on travel trends conducted by Hilton hotel group, based on a survey of 10,000 people from 9 countries.

The report states that the top reason travelers want to travel is to “recharge and rest.” Sleep tourism and the opportunity to get a good night’s sleep are driving travelers’ vacation choices – from how they pack to where they stay.

Meanwhile, Booking.com offers a list of 5 suggested destinations with good air quality, delicious and rich cuisine , pleasant climate, and beautiful natural scenery that help guests fall asleep easily.

Topping the list of suggestions is Da Lat, which has cool temperatures all year round, fresh air, delicious food and Da Nang with many quiet resorts providing convenient services, climate near the sea. The remaining 4 destinations are: Tam Dao, Suzhou China, Bali Indonesia and Koh Samui Thailand.
