Trent 'banned' from Liverpool

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been banned from several Liverpool clubs as he prepares to join Real Madrid.

Defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been at the centre of controversy at Liverpool after announcing he would leave the club at the end of the season, ending a 20-year association with the club from the youth system to the first team. The 26-year-old star is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.

Alexander-Arnold described the decision to leave Anfield as “the hardest of my life”, but according to an announcement from Liverpool, this was entirely the player’s personal choice. Trent’s actions have caused strong reactions from many fans and some local brands.

Entertainment chain Popworld Liverpool posted the words "Ban Trent" on social media. Meanwhile, electronics retailer Currys even shared a video showing Trent's picture taped to a glass door with the warning: "Banned from all Currys stores in Liverpool."

If he joins Real Madrid as expected, Alexander-Arnold will become the 7th English player to wear the "Los Blancos" shirt, after names like Steve McManaman, David Beckham, Michael Owen and most recently Jude Bellingham.

At this time, Real Madrid wants to pay a transfer fee to Liverpool to sign Alexander-Arnold early, thereby being able to play in the opening match of the group stage against Al-Hilal on June 18.
