“Gratitude to Martyrs - 2025” via account 2707 - Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung - Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs emphasized: With the tradition and morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", every year on this occasion, the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs launches a message of gratitude and the results achieved each year are higher than the previous year.

2025 is the second consecutive year that the "Gratitude to Martyrs 2025" program with the theme "Calling the Stars of the Country" is organized. This is an activity to celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025); 80 years of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (1945-2025). The goal set by the Association is to strive to reach 3 billion VND or more to support the construction of gratitude houses (each house from 60 to 80 million VND); give gifts (2 million/gift) to relatives of martyrs and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; give savings to martyrs' families in difficult circumstances, support the return of 50 to 60 martyrs' remains to their homeland and DNA testing.

Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung emphasized: Currently, the whole country still has more than 180,000 martyrs whose remains have not been found, about 300,000 martyrs have been gathered in martyr cemeteries but their identities have not been determined, many graves have information, but it is incomplete or inaccurate. Therefore, many relatives of martyrs' families still do not know where their children, siblings, wives or husbands are. The pain of seeing the words "Unknown martyr", "Unknown martyr's grave"... is the pain and anxiety of every Vietnamese person. Over the years, the Party, the State, the Army and all our people have always cared for the material and spiritual life of the families and relatives of martyrs, in order to share their unending pain. Paying tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland is not only the responsibility of the Party, the State, the army, the authorities and the whole society, but also of all those who have been and are living in peace today.

Over the past 15 years, the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs has also contributed to DNA identification and supporting families of martyrs in searching, retrieving, and bringing martyrs back to their homeland; supporting house building, giving savings books, and gifts to relatives, families of martyrs, and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Up to now, the Association and its organizations have collected, connected, and supported information on searching for martyrs' remains, announced information on more than 207,121 martyrs to the media, processed 40,000 records, and consulted more than 36,861 relatives searching for martyrs' remains. Using empirical methods and supporting DNA identification, the Association has contributed to returning the names of more than 1,000 martyrs, and supporting families in bringing 1,527 martyrs' remains back to their homeland for rest.

At the program, the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs presented gifts to the families of 10 martyrs. Delegates scanned the QR code and transferred money to pay tribute to the martyrs through account 2707 - Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank. Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung also received many donations to pay tribute to the martyrs from organizations, groups and individuals.

In 2024, because the form of texting via phone is no longer suitable for the Regulations in Clause 3, Article 61 of the 2023 Telecommunications Law , the form of supporting gratitude to martyrs using a charity App with the theme "Calling the names of the Stars of the country" was first implemented by the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs in coordination with the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank . As a result , from July 17 , 2024 to 24:00 on August 30, 2024 , the total amount of support through account 2707 reached more than 1.8 billion VND , exceeding 350% of the original target (500 million VND ) . The entire amount was used by the Association to support the construction of 20 gratitude houses; give 100 gifts; bring 20 martyrs' remains back to their hometowns and support DNA identification work, returning the names to 7 martyrs . To date , all 7 martyrs' remains have been returned to their beloved homeland.
