General Secretary To Lam emphasized: "We cannot rewrite history, but we can replan the future. The past is to be remembered, to be grateful for and to learn lessons from. The future is to be built, constructed and developed together." It is not only a reminder, but also a command from the heart, a sacred call to the entire nation.
The history of the Vietnamese people is the history of a small but heroic nation, which has experienced countless pains and losses in the long march for independence and freedom. We are grateful for the blood and bones of millions of outstanding children who have fallen for the Fatherland, and grateful for the generations who have devoted their lives to the cause of national liberation and unification. That past is a solid spiritual foundation, a traditional flame that gives us the strength to move forward.
Gratitude for the past to further appreciate the present, to be more aware of the great responsibility in creating the future. 50 years ago, our people wrote a brilliant symphony of the will to unify and the aspiration for peace . Today, the honorable promise of today's generation to the deceased is to continue writing a new symphony - a symphony of innovation, integration, development and the will to rise strongly in the 21st century.
Vietnam today is facing great opportunities, but also many challenges and hardships. In the context of deep globalization, geopolitical fluctuations, economic, environmental and non-traditional security challenges, we need to have a strategic vision, a strong will and a determination to constantly innovate. That will has been forged in the past, and must be creatively promoted in the present, to lead the country firmly into the future.
That great responsibility rests on the shoulders of the entire Party, the entire people, and especially the young generation of Vietnam - those who are, and will continue to shoulder the mission of developing the country. Every action, every contribution today needs to be illuminated by historical awareness and responsibility for the destiny of the nation. Rapid but sustainable development; deep international integration but maintaining identity and sovereignty; strong innovation but always steadfast in the goal of "Rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization" - these are the immutable principles that we must preserve.
We are increasingly aware that no true Vietnamese in the past wanted their country to be divided. And today, no true Vietnamese does not desire a strong, prosperous country, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers. That aspiration is not just a sentiment, but must be transformed into concrete actions: continuous learning, creative work, unity, promoting the strength of great national unity, proactive integration, mastering science and technology, promoting digital transformation, developing a green economy and innovation.
Our Party, under the steadfast leadership of the General Secretary, has been planning major strategies to make the country break through in the coming decades. The Party has clearly determined: By 2045, Vietnam will strive to become a developed, high-income country. That road is still long and arduous, but with our heroic tradition and our firm belief in the strength of the nation, we have every right to believe in a bright future.
Amidst the brilliant April sunshine, when the proud song resounds across the country, let us all pause to remember the generations who sacrificed, and remind ourselves: we must live, study, and contribute in a worthy manner.
Paying tribute to the past, building the future - that is not just a reminder. It is a historical mission, a sacred promise that the entire Vietnamese people vow to engrave and carry out with all their heart and strength.
