Implementing the cooperation agreement in 2024

(BLC) - On the afternoon of April 9, the Provincial Farmers' Association coordinated with Agribank Lai Chau Branch to organize a Conference to implement the cooperation agreement in 2024. At the conference, the report on the implementation of the cooperation agreement in the past time and the implementation of the cooperation agreement in 2024 were approved. Accordingly, the total number of loan groups by the end of December 2023 was 119 groups, the number of loan group members was 1,748 households, and the total outstanding loan balance of the Farmers' Association loan group was 171,828 million VND. Lending through loan groups has created favorable conditions for members to access loans, reduce travel time, and shorten loan periods. The coordination in establishing new loan groups has been of interest to the Farmers' Association and Agribank, and the quality of loan groups' operations basically meets the requirements.

Agribank's credit capital has created conditions for farming households to expand production and business, increase income, improve living standards, contribute to effective restructuring of crops and livestock, contribute to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, create jobs for workers in new rural areas and achieve local socio-economic development goals.

In the coming time, Agribank branches in districts and cities will coordinate with the Farmers' Associations in districts to organize the implementation of: increasing the number of loan groups and members participating in loan groups; improving the effectiveness of coordination with the Associations at all levels in lending activities through groups; and promoting information and communication work.

Discussing at the conference, delegates pointed out difficulties, obstacles, causes and proposed solutions to effectively implement and fulfill the 2024 plan targets.

Speaking at the conference, comrades Duong Dinh Duc - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; Nguyen Dinh Vinh - Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam Provincial Branch commended and highly appreciated the proactiveness of the Agribank Provincial Branch in deploying and implementing the program of coordination to implement credit policies to serve agricultural and rural development between the State Bank and the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Provincial Women's Union.

At the same time, it is recommended that Agribank Provincial Branches closely follow the direction of the State Bank from the beginning of 2024, focusing on doing a good job of communication, finding new ways, applying information technology to help people access policies; implementing credit programs well; improving the quality of appraisal work in the direction of shortening appraisal time, publicizing procedures, simplifying procedures, creating the most favorable conditions for farmers to borrow capital as quickly as possible. Farmers' Associations of districts and cities coordinate with Agribank branches of districts and cities to survey loan needs; establish and strengthen associations and branches; stick to the linkage chains, projects being implemented in the area to discuss with units to place orders, contributing to increasing income for farmer members.
