On the evening of August 16, the Buddhist Book Exhibition - celebrating Vu Lan Festival 2024 opened at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
The event was organized by publishing and book distribution units in Ho Chi Minh City: Thai Ha Books, Vinh Nghiem Books, Huong Trang Books and Van Lang Books.

Some new books were also introduced at the exhibition, such as the book series: "Theravada Buddhist Nuns of Vietnam" in bilingual English - Vietnamese (Dr. Kim Lan), "The Origin of Zen Buddhism" (Alexander Wynne), "Modernized Buddhism" (Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh), "Family Stories - Being a Filial Child" (collected and translated by translator Quan Nhu)...
The exhibition introduces to readers valuable Buddhist books by famous domestic and international authors and scholars; at the same time, brings meaningful activities and attractive incentives for Buddhists and readers on the occasion of Vu Lan Festival 2024.
In particular, at 6:30 p.m. on August 17, Vinh Nghiem Books will launch the book series "Tinh Tu Ngu" by Venerable Master Cheng Nghiem; at 9 a.m. on August 18, Thai Ha Books will organize a session to introduce the book series "Basic Buddhism".

During the 3-day exhibition (from August 16 to 18), there will also be exchange programs, interactive activities, book introductions; introduction of special book exhibition spaces, rare books, scriptures written on palm leaves; 17th century Vietnamese woodblocks; activities to experience printing scriptures on woodblocks, printing water-wood paintings, etc.
