In the joyful atmosphere of these historic autumn days, the whole country is looking forward to celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day, September 2.
Sharing that joy, the National Achievements Exhibition at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi ) has become a must-see destination.
The scale of the exhibition is extremely large, with diverse display areas, vividly recreating the heroic 80-year history of the nation.
Besides, outstanding achievements in the fields of politics , economics, culture, society, national defense, security and foreign affairs were also impressively introduced.
Immediately after its opening, the exhibition attracted a large number of people, officials, soldiers, students and international tourists to visit and experience.
The bustling crowd, from the silver-haired old man to the radiant child, all carried national pride.
The National Achievements Exhibition, with the theme “80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness”, is not only a big event but also a meeting place for generations.
Here, veterans recall heroic memories, the elderly reminisce about a glorious time, while young people and students find the fire of aspiration and determination to build a prosperous country.
The exhibition has become a living museum, where the past and present blend together, fostering love for the Fatherland in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.
For those who held guns, leaving behind a part of their blood on the battlefield to unify the country and protect national sovereignty , the Exhibition is not only a place to visit, but also a trip back to memories.
This morning, September 4, hundreds of veterans, who once held guns to protect every inch of their homeland, stood silently before historical artifacts.
Their eyes sparkled with pride when they saw images of old battlefields and crude models of weapons that brought victory.
Veteran Nguyen Son Bai (85 years old) from Hoang Mai (Hanoi) said he was very impressed when he saw the modern equipment and weapons displayed at the Exhibition. “Coming to this Exhibition, seeing the images and artifacts of the country’s achievements over the past 80 years, seeing my compatriots living in prosperity and happiness, I am very excited and happy that our efforts and sacrifices have been rewarded,” said veteran Nguyen Son Bai.
Meanwhile, veteran Nguyen Tien Dan (Dao Vien ward, Bac Ninh province), a 2/4 disabled veteran and a victim of chemical agents, who fought in the Southern battlefield and Laos, traveled with his comrades from Bac Ninh to Dong Anh early in the morning to visit the Exhibition.
Veteran Nguyen Tien Dan was moved when visiting the exhibition booths and said: “When we were soldiers, we were proud to fight for the ideal of independence, freedom and the aspiration for peace, independence and unification of the country. When I came to the exhibition, I was proud of what generations had devoted their efforts and blood to help our country achieve its position and foundation today.”
At the Exhibition, the areas displaying socio-economic achievements attracted special attention not only from veterans but also from younger generations.
If the elderly find memories and gratitude, the younger generation finds inspiration and aspiration.
Thousands of students, university students, and youth union members came to the exhibition in groups and participated in historical learning activities.
This is not just a regular extracurricular activity but also a practical lesson, arousing patriotism and civic responsibility.
Nguyen Lan Anh, a young person from Quang Ninh, said that each booth at the Exhibition is a testament to the country's development. To achieve that development, generations of fathers and brothers have shed so much blood and effort. For the young generation like us, this is the most vivid lesson about the responsibility of youth in the process of building the country.
Coming to the Exhibition, besides the booths introducing green industry, digital transformation, aviation and space technology, etc., the space displaying 12 cultural industries also attracted a large number of young people.
This morning, young people enjoyed performances by artists from the Vietnam Cheo Theater, Youth Theater, and Vietnam Circus Federation at Building A, where 12 cultural industries are displayed and introduced.
Not only enjoying art performances, young people also experience virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology about culture.
The exhibition “80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” is not only a place for display, but also a forum for generations to review history together and foster patriotism.
From proud veterans, the elderly reminiscing about the past, to young people with aspirations to reach further, all find a part of themselves in the country's 80-year journey.
The aspirations of the young generation do not stop at studying, but are also expressed in the will to build a modern, civilized country.
The exhibition showed them that Vietnam not only has a glorious past but also a promising future.
The achievements in economy, culture, education... displayed at the exhibition are the clearest proof of that.
They realize that their responsibility is to inherit and promote the achievements of their ancestors, turning individual aspirations into collective strength to take the country further.
The exhibition has successfully conveyed a strong message: The country's achievements today are the crystallization of the spirit of solidarity and indomitable will of the entire nation.
It is a reminder that today's generation needs to continue to strive and contribute to writing glorious pages of history, bringing Vietnam forward.
The unexpected success of the Exhibition has shown special interest and strong spreading effect among all classes of people.
In response to the needs and wishes of the general public, especially those who have not had the opportunity to visit, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 155/CD-TTg, deciding to extend the exhibition period until September 15, 2025.
This is a timely and correct decision, demonstrating listening and understanding of people's aspirations.
The telegram also requested ministries, branches, localities, and related units to coordinate closely to ensure the exhibition takes place safely, effectively, and economically, while continuing to promote and spread the good values of the event.
