On the evening of September 4, the premiere of the film "Red Rain" to pay tribute to heroic martyrs took place at the special national relic of Quang Tri Citadel , Quang Tri province.
The event attracted thousands of locals and tourists to watch the movie.
Since dusk, a large number of people have gathered at Quang Tri Citadel - the resting place of thousands of martyrs - to wait for the movie to be shown. In the sacred space, everyone reminded themselves to "walk softly, speak softly" and to comply with the regulations of the Relic Site Management Board.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Quang Tri ward, Quang Tri province said that when there was information about the screening of the movie "Red Rain" at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, she and her family members were very excited and looked forward to watching the movie.
This is a meaningful activity not only to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who fell for national independence but also to arouse the pride, patriotism and indomitable spirit of the nation, right in the sacred land of Heroic Quang Tri.
Ms. Cap Thi Thien Trang, Head of the Management Board of the General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Site and Quang Tri Citadel, said that the screening of the film “Red Rain” at the special national relic Quang Tri Citadel - the recreated setting of the film - is a meaningful activity.
The Management Board has arranged projectors, LED screens, and seats for residents and visitors, and coordinated with agencies and units to ensure security and order.
In recent days, the film has been warmly received by the people. After watching the film, many people went to Quang Tri Citadel to offer incense and flowers to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs.
Especially during the September 2nd holiday this year, the number of visitors to the relic increased to a record high. From August 30 to September 2, the relic welcomed nearly 10,000 visitors.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chung, Trieu Phong commune, Quang Tri province shared that watching the movie “Red Rain” helped him feel more deeply about the hardships and heroic sacrifices of the heroic martyrs as well as understand more about the historical 81-day event at Quang Tri Citadel. The film brought tears to viewers and also helped people understand more about the value of peace .
The film “Red Rain” was adapted from a script by writer Chu Lai, directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen, Deputy Director in charge of Arts and Cinema of the People's Army.
The film is inspired and fictionalized from the 81 days and nights of heroic and resilient fighting by the people and officers and soldiers to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972 - one of the fiercest battles of the 20th century.
The film combines field footage and modern cinematography, helping the audience immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the battle that lasted for 81 days and nights.
In addition, the film also recreates the Paris Conference, which demonstrated Vietnam's foreign policy mettle and justice, contributing to a comprehensive reflection of the journey to gain independence and peace.
The screening of the film “Red Rain” is an activity organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province in coordination with the People's Army Cinema to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs and the people, agencies, units and localities that have coordinated to support the production unit of this meaningful film.
Not only showing at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, on September 5, the film "Red Rain" continues to be shown for free at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Rio CINEMAS, Vincom Plaza Dong Ha to serve the people, officers and soldiers in the area.
In addition, the unit will have a film screening for leaders and officials of provincial departments and branches at 8:00 p.m. on September 5 or 8:00 a.m. on September 6 in Dong Hoi ward, Quang Tri province./.
