In previous years, Mr. Ma Van Huynh's family life in village 2 faced many difficulties due to lack of capital and production direction. In 2024, from the Poor Members Support Fund of the Commune Farmers' Association, he was able to borrow 20 million VND to develop a breeding goat herd.
From the initial 15 goats, the herd has now increased to 25, bringing in a stable income. “With capital and technical guidance, my family is more confident in raising animals. Thanks to that, the economy has also improved,” Mr. Huynh shared.
In addition to the support capital from the association fund, the Farmers' Association of Cho Don commune also strengthens the trust activities with the Social Policy Bank, helping members easily access preferential loans for production. The Association also coordinates to organize training courses, vocational training, and transfer of technical advances to improve labor productivity.
Ms. Chu Thi Xuan, Vice President of the Commune Farmers’ Association, said: We have accompanied members from the beginning, helping them grasp the techniques and feel secure in developing the model. When people change their way of doing things, the results will be obvious.
The Cho Don Commune Veterans Association is also a force that plays a good role in supporting its members in economic development. The case of Mr. Nong Van Duyen's family in village 13 is a typical example. Previously, his family's economy faced many difficulties. Thanks to the Veterans Association's support in accessing preferential capital, he borrowed 65 million VND from the Social Policy Bank to invest in a buffalo breeding model.
From the initial 5 buffaloes, the herd has now grown to 13; every year he sells buffaloes to the market, creating a stable income. Mr. Duyen shared: With capital, direction and encouragement from the Association, I am confident in expanding my livestock farming. Thanks to that, the family economy has improved significantly.

| The rural appearance of Cho Don commune is increasingly improving. |
The commune's unions also carry out many activities to support members, such as: Propagating to improve production skills, supporting access to preferential capital, participating in training courses, mobilizing contributions to build "Great Solidarity" houses, repairing houses for poor members, contributing to the "For the Poor" Fund, supporting disadvantaged households to improve living conditions...
According to Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong Dung, Vice Chairwoman of Cho Don Commune People's Committee, the participation and support of associations and unions in local socio-economic development has created positive changes in household economic development. Associations and unions not only help members access capital and technology, but also promote changes in production thinking, creating motivation for people to boldly develop the economy and strive to stabilize their lives.
Effective livelihood models are increasingly being replicated, and people's lives are gradually improving. By November 2025, the commune's poverty rate will decrease to 1.4% (55/3,800 households), and near-poor households will decrease to 0.95% (36/3,800 households). This transformation creates a foundation for Cho Don to continue to improve people's lives and develop a sustainable socio-economy.
