The World Travel Awards' selection of Vietnam as the world's leading Heritage Destination demonstrates the outstanding appeal of Vietnam's heritage system, with 9 UNESCO-recognized natural and cultural World Heritage sites, 15 intangible cultural heritage sites, and 10 documentary heritage sites, as well as national-level cultural relics and heritage sites spread throughout the country. This is a crucial foundation that helps Vietnam become a country with one of the richest heritage systems in Asia.
This is the sixth time Vietnam has received the title of "World's Leading Heritage Destination". Previously, Vietnam received this title in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
The title of “World’s Leading Heritage Destination” in 2025 is a recognition of Vietnam’s efforts in preserving and promoting heritage values alongside sustainable tourism development. The harmonious combination of natural landscapes, cultural depth, and community identity has created a unique appeal, making Vietnam a favorite experiential destination for international tourists. This also motivates localities to continue investing in infrastructure and improving service quality, contributing to affirming the brand “Vietnam – Endless Beauty” on the global tourism map.
Phu Quoc wins the "World's Leading Natural Island and Beach Destination" award for the fourth consecutive time.
Not only shining at the national level, many local destinations in Vietnam have also been honored in top global categories this year: Dong Van Karst Plateau won the title of “World’s Leading Local Cultural Destination” for the first time, marking the unique value of the UNESCO Global Geopark and the identity of the highland communities; Moc Chau was named “World’s Leading Local Nature Destination” for the third time, affirming the enduring appeal of the green plateau with its mild climate and pristine landscape; Tam Dao was voted “World’s Leading Tourist Town” for the fourth time thanks to its mystical beauty in the mist and unique old French architecture; Phu Quoc won the “World’s Leading Natural Island Destination” award for the fourth consecutive time, proving its status as one of Asia’s most charming resort paradises.

The continuous string of accolades over the years has affirmed the enduring and timeless appeal of Vietnamese destinations. The spread of these accolades contributes to creating a diverse network of destinations rich in identity and highly competitive, further elevating Vietnam's standing at prestigious global tourism awards.
