Voting Vietnam as the World's Leading Heritage Destination by the World Travel Awards shows the outstanding appeal of Vietnam's heritage system with 9 world natural and cultural heritages, 15 intangible cultural heritages and 10 documentary heritages recognized by UNESCO and national-level cultural relics and heritages spread across the country. This is an important foundation to help Vietnam become the country with the richest heritage system in Asia.
This is the sixth time Vietnam has received the title of “World’s Leading Heritage Destination”. Previously, Vietnam received this title in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
The title of “World’s Leading Heritage Destination” in 2025 is also a recognition of Vietnam’s efforts in preserving and promoting heritage values in parallel with sustainable tourism development. The harmonious combination of natural landscapes, cultural depth and community identity has created a unique attraction, making Vietnam a favorite destination for international tourists. This also motivates localities to continue investing in infrastructure, improving service quality, contributing to affirming the brand “Vietnam - Endless Beauty” on the global tourism map.
Phu Quoc wins "World's Leading Natural Island Destination" award for fourth consecutive time
Not only shining in the national category, many local destinations of Vietnam were also honored in the world's top categories this year: Dong Van Stone Plateau was awarded the title of "World's Leading Local Cultural Destination" for the first time, marking the unique value of the UNESCO Global Geopark and the identity of the stone plateau community; Moc Chau was named "World's Leading Local Natural Destination" for the third time, affirming the sustainable attraction of the green plateau with its mild climate and pristine landscape; Tam Dao was voted "World's Leading Tourist Town" for the fourth time thanks to its magical beauty in the mist and unique ancient French architecture; Phu Quoc won the "World's Leading Natural Island Destination" award for the fourth consecutive time, proving its class as one of the most attractive resort paradises in Asia.
Dong Van Stone Plateau wins title of “World's Leading Local Cultural Destination” for the first time
The series of consecutive titles over many years has affirmed the sustainable and timeless appeal of Vietnamese destinations. At the same time, this is also a testament to the continuous efforts of localities in conserving resources, renewing products and upgrading the quality of tourism services. The spread of titles contributes to creating a diverse, unique and highly competitive network of destinations, continuing to make Vietnam shine at prestigious global tourism awards.
