After periods of practicing Pop Art or Post-Impressionism, artist Tran Trung Linh turned to pursue an introspective journey. This exhibition marks the intersection between Eastern visual arts and Zen thought, where images become a tool to guide emotions - not only to see but also to understand.

The works displayed in the exhibition revolve around the concept of “Form is Emptiness, Emptiness is Form” in the Heart Sutra. The series of paintings is imbued with a rich philosophical language, many layers of images and inner movement. No longer the fierce, image-saturated paintings of the previous period, the works go into depth: from brilliance to simplicity, from emotion to tranquility, from Form to Emptiness - and finally Wisdom.

Artist Tran Trung Linh shared: “This is not just visual art, but a metaphor of consciousness. Color is not just to present images, but a means of dialogue between the external view and the silence inside the viewer. The work becomes an open space for each individual to regain a part of their own being.”

With this return exhibition, Tran Trung Linh does not seek to explain morality, nor does he create a closed discourse. He chooses to step back to paint silence, using images to open up space for viewers to feel for themselves. It can be a process of letting go, or it can also be a new beginning - with the clear vision of awareness.
Tran Trung Linh was born in 1977 in Hoi An, graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts in 2001. He was one of the artists with a bold path, combining painting, photography, cinematography and design. His works are strongly influenced by Van Gogh, Egon Schiele and contemporary aesthetics, and have been exhibited in Vietnam, Bali (Indonesia), the Netherlands...
