According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, 3 suspects were prosecuted and temporarily detained in the ring including: Tran Nhat Vinh (29 years old), Tran Tri Minh Sang (21 years old, both residing in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province), and Luu Thi Thai (residing in Dak Lak) for the crime of "illegal drug trafficking".

Previously, at 1:00 p.m. on April 28, Tan Binh District Police coordinated with Ward 14 Police (Tan Binh District) to inspect a house on Nguyen Hong Dao Street, Ward 14, catching Tran Nhat Vinh and Tran Tri Minh Sang red-handed hiding two bags containing 12.3 kg of dried marijuana leaves.
During an emergency search of Tran Nhat Vinh's residence, the police seized 7 more bags containing 20.26 kg of cannabis leaves. In addition, they also seized tools for dividing and packaging cannabis, including: 1 electronic scale, 1 dryer, 1 vacuum sealer, 1 heat sealer, 1 100 kg scale and many other related exhibits.
At the police station, Tran Nhat Vinh and Tran Tri Minh Sang stated that around August 2022, through a friend (unknown background), Vinh was introduced to a person named "Nang" (unknown background) so that Vinh could work receiving dried cannabis, packaging it and delivering it to Nang's customers.
Marijuana seized
Vinh and Nang agreed that Nang would provide cannabis seeds for Luu Thi Thai to grow, harvest and then deliver finished cannabis to Vinh, the salary per kilogram was about 15 million VND, harvested once every 4 months.
When a customer buys marijuana, Vinh puts the marijuana in a tea box to disguise it, packages it and sends it to the customer according to Nang's instructions. Each time Vinh successfully delivers an order to Nang's customer, he will be paid 50,000 VND.
The amount of dried marijuana seized by the police
To help with the work, Vinh asked Sang to come live with him. Vinh provided food and lodging and shared the wages with Sang. For each successful marijuana delivery, Sang received 20,000 VND. Vinh assigned Sang to personally receive the marijuana sent by the Jews and deliver it to the customers.
On April 29, Tan Binh District Police coordinated with Ea Tar Commune Police, Cu M'gar District (Dak Lak) to invite Thai to clarify. Through the struggle, Luu Thi Thai confessed to all her crimes.
Tan Binh District Police are currently investigating and expanding the case.
