Dismantling a ring that traded more than 200kg of marijuana on the internet

Tuyen Quang Provincial Police have just coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, the Ministry of Public Security and Hanoi City Police to dismantle an illegal drug trafficking ring on the internet, prosecuted 10 subjects, seized more than 200kg of dried marijuana and many related exhibits.

Previously, in September 2024, through the work of grasping the situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Tuyen Quang Provincial Police discovered a ring of illegal drug trafficking of marijuana on cyberspace with extremely sophisticated methods such as: mixing and camouflaging drugs with other goods; taking advantage of delivery services to trade drugs; using virtual currency payment platforms...

The subjects disguised drugs as many types of goods.

Realizing that this is a drug trafficking ring of large quantities of marijuana, with complex operations, spread across many localities. If not promptly destroyed, the consequences will be very serious. The leaders of Tuyen Quang Provincial Police have directed the establishment of a special project to combat it.

Synchronously deploying professional measures, the forces fighting the special case arrested 10 subjects. Of which, in Tuyen Quang province, 1 subject was arrested, more than 186g of marijuana was seized; in Hanoi , 7 subjects were arrested, 191kg of dried marijuana, more than 159g of marijuana essential oil and 591 electronic cigarette products containing marijuana essential oil were seized; in Ho Chi Minh City, 2 subjects were arrested, 20kg of dried marijuana and many exhibits were seized.

Currently, the case is under further investigation.
